Ketu in Virgo and Rahu in Pisces has been a crazy year and a half for me. Ketu was transiting my Rahu + Mars sign and Rahu was transiting my Ketu + Saturn. Virgo is all about meticulous order, and Ketu simply doesn't care. Pisces is all about transitions and flow, while Rahu brings illusions plus obsession. For myself, this period has signified many karmic closures. Letting go of all the false beliefs I had around my personal identity, my work, what I valued, and why. The pendulum has swung as far the opposite direction as it can – giving a taste of the other side of the coin. I've seen people describe these node reversals as "Karmic Checkpoints". That wonderfully describes my experience! Ketu stripping away what's false, while Rahu tempts you with illusions of progress. This has been a test of alignment – am I truly answering my calling? Despite feeling disorientated, I've finally become liberated! This 9 universal year has been amazingly transformative so far. January started off this process of conclusion, February gave us a peek into the future, March began dissolving what was (two eclipses), April began laying the new groundwork, and May has begun the transition into the next universal input cycle. In honor of today’s 8 life path + 5 energy, here’s a quick breakdown of two similar names. One with 5 energy, one with 8 energy. Elise - 5 energy Eliza - 8 energy Energetically, both names convey confidence and command of the room. 5 is an entertainer, while 8 is a total powerhouse. When it comes to sex appeal, Elise (the adaptable & adventurous 5) is going to come across as more sexual & seductive, while Eliza (the dynamic & powerful 8) has a more high-class and “upscale” sex appeal. What are you letting go of tonight? For me personally, this Venus retrograde period has been focused on one lesson. Growing up I played 24 seasons of sports (baseball, football, & hockey) between 1st and 12th grade, before playing hockey in college. As a result, I’m extremely competitive and put a ton of value in winning. Over time I’ve learned when you’re focused on being “the best” and being #1, you’re also forced to compare yourself to others. These comparisons create expectations. Now depending on how well reality lives up to those expectations — so much is 100% out of our control — you might just be setting yourself up for disappointment. So instead of focusing on being THE BEST (forced to compare myself to others) my new focus is simply on doing MY BEST. Not assigning value to my results, but valuing myself based on how hard I worked.
