Halloween
So this is a first, I'm actually ahead of the holidays!! I created these pumpkin earrings and they're so simple. It started with my frosted transparent hyacinth beads and trying to think of something they would lol really good in. The only thing I could come up with at the time was pumpkins 🤣🤣🤣

Very cute
need a lil help or suggestions
I have a general question. I been buy gently used beads and jewelry and taking the jewelry apart and reusing them in something new. my question is I have those pretty beads that are on strings and I want to take them off the string and make something new with them how in the heck can I get them off the strings without damaging the beads. I have been soaking them in hot soapy water it worked on some but not all. any suggestions?

Cutting the string near the clasp usually allows them to slide off without difficulty. If they are individually knotted like salt water pearls, you can use sewing thin scissors to cut close to the pearl without damaging it. I have found trying to undo a know with a needle often scratches the bead. I also caution with soaking. Some older beads don’t have a waterproof finish, and if your water is like ours (rural) there are minerals/chemicals that can weaken or tarnish beads. Have fun with vintage beads!! They bring out the creativity in us!!!

@Tinia Brokaw it looks like you could cut the string between beads

@Glenda Stratton I have a really easy starter pattern, I’ll send to you. Can you read/ print out .pdf file?
Need you artists’ opinions
I did a lot of beading while on vacation ( I know, rough eh 😉). Multiple patterns and styles I wanted to try. These two bracelets just don’t ‘click’ for me like other completed pieces. I need HONEST opinions from fellow artists. I can’t pin down what seems off and I need help!! I have no problem taking a piece apart to make it better, so please don’t spare the suggestions. Both are made to the pattern , just color variations and gem duo in place of kites. The patterns didn’t use transparent beads either.

I have been creating jewelry for over 20 years but self taught beading after being exposed to the beautiful Native beadwork.
