Impossible to leave a review on a book
Hi, I wanted to post the review for an assignment which deadline was today 29th, but when clicking on the button to write the review, I got this message from Amazon: "We apologize but Amazon is not accepting reviews on this product from this account. For more information or to contact us, please see our community guidelines." It is a KU assignment, I read the book completely, have it on my paid KU membership since early June. A few questions: - is it a sign I should be concerned of (eg: my account could be flagged somehow), or just the "normal evolution" in the sense that the more reviews I give, the more often it may occur (unless the pool of publishers using those review platforms expands much faster than my review pace...) - I have seen that book on other review platforms, so maybe it is a book from an author who has already reviewed one of my book, hence Amazon seeing it as a potential "swap" hence preventing me from leaving a review ? - should I just "delete/cancel" this assignment from BookVillage interface ? - do other publishers also get this message from time to time ? Thanks for any feedback ! Yannick

i have experienced this once before too, i think on April.. amazon dogs type of picture will be sent that you cant post a review. it was a kindle unlimited review. i just went with verified purchases after and ordered other stuff in amazon other than books as suggested in the village.
Why giving 4 stars with no constructive feedback?
Hi all. I've been noticing a trend most recently where authors leave a 4-star review on my book but without offering real constructive feedback. All of the ones on my case are from UK. It' very frustrating because I don't have anything to do to improve my book and my listing gets hurt. What are the motivations from people to do that?

📢 BookVillage Review Stability Update – May 18 (Final Update)
We have finally completed the full analysis regarding everything that happened over the last weeks with Amazon review moderation and removals. This analysis required days of extremely intense work because we didn’t want to rely on assumptions or isolated cases. We analyzed: • the structure and purchase history of the Amazon accounts used by our users • reviewer behavior patterns and review frequency • the types of reviews being posted • and how all of this correlated with the type and frequency of reviews received by authors on their books And now we are finally able to provide much clearer conclusions. And honestly, the results are better than we expected. First of all, all the recommendations we shared previously remain absolutely valid. So: • do not post more than one review within less than 36 hours • ideally, allow 48 hours between reviews whenever possible But we also discovered something very important. After analyzing all the affected cases, it became extremely clear that the more an Amazon account behaves like a real customer account, especially through frequent physical product purchases, the more tolerance Amazon seems to allow toward occasional unverified review activity. On the other hand, when an Amazon account was created mainly for posting reviews, or shows very little real activity besides ebook purchases and reviews, the problems appear almost exclusively when posting: • Free Promo reviews • Kindle Unlimited reviews • Standard Unverified reviews So if you created an Amazon account mainly to participate in BookVillage, my recommendation is very simple: Use that account in the same marketplace where you can also make real physical purchases. For example, many users live in the UK but choose to post reviews mainly on Amazon.com. In most cases, you will likely have a much stronger trust score posting directly on Amazon.co.uk, because that is where your real customer activity naturally happens. However, if you still want to continue posting reviews on a marketplace where your activity consists mostly of ebook purchases and reviews, then my recommendation is equally clear:

my 2 cents.. i think if you actually search in amazon for the book title of your assignment will give you more authenticity on verified purchases
🏆 BookVillage Contest — We Have a Winner
I’ve decided that in this case we will have two winners. The mentorship call goes to @Laura Diaz and @Yannick Di Mondo Both of them have been supporting BookVillage since the very beginning and have publicly shared their experience with the platform multiple times. I read many other comments and posts that were honestly beautiful and very thoughtful. Unfortunately, in a contest you still have to choose, and this time I wanted to reward two people who have supported BookVillage publicly more than once. Laura and Yannick, write in the comments what topics you would like to focus on during your mentorship session. Then contact me at adriano@bookvillage.pub so we can arrange when to schedule the calls. If you don’t have a specific topic in mind, don’t worry. I’ll guide you. During the call we’ll look at your KDP business together, understand what the main problems are, and figure out how to solve them!

🎯 BookVillage Contest — Win a 1-Hour Mentorship With Adriano
Let’s do something fun. I’m giving away one private 1-hour mentorship call where we can talk about anything related to self-publishing. This contest is open to everyone in the community, including members currently on the free trial. ✍️ HOW TO PARTICIPATE Write a short honest comment about your experience with BookVillage so far. You can share what differences you noticed compared to other review platforms, whether you feel safer using BookVillage for your KDP account, how the system works for you, or how many reviews your book received in the last 30 days. If you want, you can also attach a screenshot from your Dashboard or Author Office showing your recent results. Just make sure to hide or crop the book title and cover to keep them private. Even a short comment (3–4 lines is perfectly fine), it doesn’t need to be long. You can post your feedback as a comment under this post, as a new post in the community, or even in another self-publishing community and share the link here. 🏆 PRIZE The most thoughtful feedback will win a private 1-hour mentorship call with me. During the call we can talk a 360-degree look at your publishing business. You can show me your books, we can analyze whether you chose the right topics for your niche, review your Amazon Ads, and discuss your overall publishing strategy to understand where improvements can be made. For context, I’ve been publishing on Amazon for over 7 years, and at my best month I generated around $23,000 in royalties. ⏰ DEADLINE April 3, after that I’ll choose the winner. Good luck everyone, I’m curious to hear your experiences with BookVillage 🚀

so far it has been great in the sense that i do not have any insecurities that my account or book will be blocked. over the past month i had 4 reviews and 2 are still pending. i have 12 completed assignments. it takes a while for my promotion to get picked if its kindle unlimited. but for verified purchase, it gets picked faster. i suggest to do verified purchases promotions. best advantage in bookvillage is not having the insecurity in getting reviews.😉
