Trendy?
🧠 What’s something people do today that feels completely normal now…but would have seemed strange or unnecessary 10–20 years ago? Curious to see your answers 👀 Also, check out the flashcards for this session See you Saturday!

Twenty years ago, when we wanted to go on holiday by car, we used to buy a road map to know the route we will go until our destination. Nowadays, we don't have to buy a road map because we have GPS, which is easier to use.
Is minimalism really possible?
Hello my Lounge fam! 💛 How have you been? Quick health update: what I thought was just a flu turned out to be bronchitis, so it’s been a bit of a struggle… but I’m finally starting to feel better this week 🙏 This Saturday, we’ll be talking about minimalism in our next session! You can already check out the flashcards in the classroom section 👀 Now, I have a question for you: 👉 Imagine you can only keep 3 objects for the rest of your life…What would they be and why? Here are mine:📱 My phone: because I have Spotify and all my entertainment there🔌 A charger: otherwise my phone is useless 😄🔪 A knife : super practical: cutting, fixing, measuring… so many uses! What about you? Drop your 3 items below ⬇️And don’t forget to reply to at least one other person!

The 3 objects I will keep for the rest of my life are: my toothbrush because my teeth need it; my toothpaste because my teeth need it; my dental floss because my teeth need it... At my age teeth are really valuable!
Personal Choice or Social Pressure?
Hello my English Lounge fam! 👋🌍 This Saturday’s session is about milestones in life. ✨If you are wondering what a milestone is, the Oxford Dictionary defines it as “a very important stage or event in the development of something.” Think about moments like graduating 🎓, starting a career 💼, getting married 💍, or buying a house 🏡. Many societies have an invisible timeline of milestones people are expected to reach. So I have a quick question for you 👇 If you could delete one “expected” life milestone from society’s timeline, which one would it be? 🤔 Examples people often mentiongetting married by a certain age 💍buying a house 🏡having children 👶having a “stable” career 💼 Or maybe you would delete something completely different. Which milestone would you remove and why? 👀 I’m curious to read your answers! 💬

Getting married was never a milestone for me because my mother was a voluntarily single woman, and she raised me to despise marriage. However, I decided to marry my wife because we wanted children, and administrative arrangements were more complicated without being married. There were only the mandatory two witnesses at the wedding. Nevertheless, we invited them to have dinner with us. Unfortunately, our dog ate the cake my wife had made for the dinner.
WOULD YOU RATHER?
Hey guys! 💖 How have you been? Did you miss me? Because I definitely missed you! I’ve got a fun Would You Rather poll for you 👀Take a minute to reply. I can’t wait to see your choices! And don’t forget to check out the flashcards for our upcoming session on Pet Peeves. We’re going to have FUN with this one 😈 Would you rather… • Always be 5 minutes late or always wait 5 minutes? • Have slow Wi-Fi forever or low battery forever? • Deal with messy people or control freaks? • Listen to voice notes or long emails? • Be ignored or be over-texted? • Have a broken alarm or a broken charger? • Sit next to a talker or a snorer? I’m looking forward to getting to know you even better… See you Saturday! 💬✨

Hi Margie, Of course I missed you last week. But I suppose not only me. So I will try answering your questions even they seem very hard for me. So I would rather... be 5 minutes late than wait 5 minutes even if I hate to be late. Have slow Wi-Fi forever than a low battery forever Deal with messy people than with control freaks Read long emails than listen to voice notes Be ignored than be over-texted Hav e a broken alarm than a broken charger because I don't use any alarm Sit next to a snorer than a talker However I would rather don't have to choose between any of these kind of choices. Best Gerard

Imposter syndrom refers to people who think they don't deserve the position where they are. As I never studied english when I was at school, I didn't got any diploma or "position" in english, and therefore cannot have "imposter syndrom" in this matter. However, I am ashamed to still have such a low level because I tried to learn english for so many years without becoming fluent. Nevertheless, I feel a bit more confident participating to this group.
