Day 4 of class in the books…
Finished day 4 of Dean’s two-week class today. I came home and really tried to hone in on the small details Dean has been preaching. The two things I’m focusing on most right now are: 1. Not every push needs to move metal. It’s tempting to want to make a push and immediately see a reaction, but I’m learning that those smaller, more controlled pushes add up to bigger, and more importantly, more precise changes. 2. Slowing down my rhythm and being intentional. Whether I’m pushing or knocking down, I want to make sure I’m hitting exactly where I intend to. It’s easy to get moving too fast and make a push just because it feels like I should be doing something. I’m working on slowing down and making every move with a purpose. The first 80% isn’t necessarily the hard part, but it sets the foundation for the last 20%, and I’m finding that’s where the small details really add up to create the final product. Looking forward to the rest of the class and continuing to hone in on my skills! Attached are a few photos of some of the damage I’ve been practicing on. Nothing perfect by any means but it’s important to show the progress!
