Mark and Jason, I just wanted to let you know that I just reviewed the Andromeda Rising video for the 6th time. I say this to let you know that your efforts in making the video and the hours you spent teaching the mixing process, along with the other videos on this site, are extremely valuable for people at my level. Thank you again!

@Stephen Shaw Thanks Stephen. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Mix Stream #6 - Andromeda Rising
Here is a mix example for one of our member's songs. Thanks to @George Capote for sharing this with us! A couple notes: - I was having issue with the audio in the stream because of the need to capture it all on video while on a live call and mixing. My PC was seriously stuttering. The video is fine, but there is delay on the voice audio. - George did a pretty darn good job on his own mix, so this is mostly a different perspective on it so he could take away any ideas he might like to incorporate (and hopefully you all find useful info as well!) - I used some plug-ins beyond those that we usually share in the lessons. All relevant plugin links are included below. @Dale Barfoot Thank you Dale! Mark and Jason have done a great job overall with Skool. They have filled a void for amateurs like me. With so much to learn , what a valuable resource!
New Course - Exporting Stems So We Can Do Mix Videos Of Your Song
Hey guys, please see the new video courses on exporting stems. We sometimes do remixes of our member's songs to help along on their journey. We did a video on how to get the files to us to work with. One for Login and one for Reaper. https://www.skool.com/recordingfortherestofus/classroom/fe69dcda?md=6850c4c37b4e4418ac81afba22624afa

🔥 Top Music Distribution Services
Hey guys, here is a quick breakdown of places to go to publish. FYI, I currently use Distrokid or Routenote. I believe Jason is 100% Distrokid. 1. DistroKid https://www.distrokid.com Pros: - Flat annual fee for unlimited uploads - Fast delivery - Easy Spotify artist verification - Very user-friendly Cons: - No free option - Charges extra for things like Shazam and YouTube Content ID 2. TuneCore https://www.tunecore.com Pros: - Strong analytics and reporting - Offers publishing admin services - Trusted by professionals Cons: - Charges per release - Can get expensive if you're releasing a lot 3. CD Baby https://www.cdbaby.com Pros: - One-time fee per release - Includes YouTube monetization - Offers physical distribution and sync licensing Cons: - Takes 9% of digital revenue - Slower delivery compared to others 4. Amuse https://www.amuse.io Pros: - Free plan available - Clean mobile-first app - Premium plan offers faster releases Cons: - Limited tools on free plan - Less robust analytics and support 5. UnitedMasters https://www.unitedmasters.com Pros: - Free plan with 90/10 revenue split - Sync opportunities (TV, commercials) - Sleek mobile app Cons: - Takes a cut of royalties - Limited advanced controls 6. RouteNote https://www.routenote.com Pros: - Free distribution (keep 85% of royalties) - Paid plan = keep 100% - Unlimited releases and monetization options Cons: - Free plan is slower to approve - Mixed reviews on support quality Final Thoughts: - Releasing a lot? DistroKid offers the best value. - Want more control or publishing admin? Try TuneCore or CD Baby. - Just getting started? Check out Amuse, UnitedMasters, or RouteNote.

@Mark Tiarra Well as you know, I use Reaper. Typically, I add SSL Channel enhancements on all tracks, I use Joe Ciccarelli’s Voice Strip on all vocals. Before rendering, I use IK Multimedia’s Lurssen Mastering on the Master and recently began using Detroubler as well. My issue is that although it sounds good through my headphones, it doesn’t usually sound as crisp and clean on other devices as I’d like.

@Mark Tiarra as always thanks for your help and advice. I’m currently working on a new song. When I’m done, I’ll send it over. I always welcome constructive feedback and criticism.
What seems to be the biggest obstacle for you?
I was chatting with Mark and we would love to know, in your music journey, right now what is the biggest obstacle that seems to get in your way?

@Nic Svensson I understand completely. In my case, I was probably ahead of most because of my age. I started after my live band days were behind me with old school recording tools, original Tascam, etc. Then I started a family and focused on a demanding full time job and completely stopped the music vibe for more than 20 years. It’s only been within the last 5 years that I started again. Completely lost with new technology. DAW? What is that? Yes, completely started over. With help and encouragement from good people like our very own Mark, I feel that I’m improving gradually. Never give up your passion. It’s waiting for the right time. Your kids will grow and be on their way and your music will still be there to explore, express and take off!

@Nic Svensson 47! You’re still in your music youth. I’m 67, lol. My brain cells don’t want to work as efficiently as they used to. These days my neurons daydream. Still, the audio process whether you’re a professional or a novice like me is therapeutic, isn’t it? Best drug I’ve ever ingested, lol Good luck!!
