๐Ÿ›‘ CRITICAL n8n BUG ๐Ÿ› Self-Hosters Please Read - 10/10 Security Risk
Hey friends! Hope everyone's 2026 is off to a fantastic start. Sorry for posting this across multiple communities but it is a 10/10 security risk. A serious vulnerability (CVE-2026-21858) was publicly disclosed this week affecting all n8n versions before 1.121.0. โš ๏ธ What you need to know: - Severity: CVSS 10.0 (this is the HIGHEST it can be!!) - Risk: Unauthenticated remote code execution via webhook endpoints - Impact: Attackers can access your n8n instance without credentials, read files, execute code, and pivot to any connected systems (databases, APIs, cloud storage, CRMs, etc.) ๐Ÿ” How it works: The vulnerability exploits how n8n handles Content-Type headers on webhooks. By manipulating these headers, attackers can overwrite internal variables and escalate to full system compromise. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What to do: 1. Check your version: Settings > About (or n8n --version) 2. If below 1.121.0: Update immediately 3. n8n Cloud users: You should already be patched, but verify ๐Ÿ”‘ Why this matters: n8n typically holds keys to your entire stack - API tokens, OAuth credentials, database connections. A compromised instance means a compromised everything it touches. The fix has been available since November 18, 2025 but there has been a surge of articles published about this issue the last couple days. If you have an old n8n instance running, make sure you update the version! Stay safe out there! ๐Ÿ™ Article to more information here: https://www.theregister.com/2026/01/08/n8n_rce_bug/

Lead Magnets?
Do you use lead magnets in your marketing? If so, would love to hear about your experiences. What works well, what doesn't, etc.

Hi @Yang Pan , I used to use clickfunnels to build and deploy lead magnets in the past, I do not currently use them since I am not actively marketing at the moment. If I did I would use Carrd for the lead magnet.

@Yang Pan I guess it is what you are using as a marketing funnel and if your offer is good enough to get many responses, it also depends if your offer is a no-brainer or a hard sell.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ I built an AI-powered Meditation app for my client and here are the things I learnt
About a month ago, I sent a cold DM to a person on LinkedIn. Just after the first call he was interested in getting his app developed by me and we later became good friends. I didn't expect that to happen. So, my first lesson in this journey is to reach out to more people, you never know who might benefit from your services. And it doesn't take a long time. Your next client might be just a DM away from you. Now, you might wonder, why use AI in a meditation app. You don't need to apply AI to everything. That's right. I've been a long-time user of the Headspace app. The content there has remained the same for years. It didn't evolve. What if there were new meditation sessions based on my emotional state, every day? AI can do that. AI can generate text, it can generate speech. So, it's possible with AI. So my next lesson is - AI can be applied to many areas that we've not thought of before. It's always a good idea to ask ourselves "Can AI do this better?" before building a solution. Building an AI app will become more complex in the days to come. Let me explain. Gone are the days of the ChatGPT wrappers. Anyone can build an AI app now. With IDEs like Cursor, you can build one even without knowing how to code. So building an AI app will require more layers of solutions and infrastructure packed together in the future. Your AI app will only add value if it can solve real, complex business problems. So when I was developing Klai.me, the meditation app I am talking about, I had to find an answer to "How is my app adding value to its users, and how can AI help me achieve it?". I didn't want it to sound cool just by including AI in it. As long as you're focused on the problem and not on how you can use AI in it, you're on the right track. So the lesson is - Solve problems, with or without AI. My next lesson is about fulfillment in life. I've been a Software Engineer working at tech companies for the past 7 years, but working on an idea from scratch, presenting a solution to my clients, and helping my clients with my skills has given me the greatest fulfillment. Working on my business was a better utilization of my skills than putting it in my 9-5.
