Critical PHP Flaws: What To Watch For And What To Update
By now, you've probably heard about the flaws that AI found in PHP, the programming language that 70% of the internet runs on. And that many company and government pages have been temporarily shut down to prevent them from being hacked. Emergency security updates are now available for two critical vulnerabilities in PHP. Known as PHP2Shell, these flaws could let attackers run malicious code on an affected server without logging in. They could steal business data, change website content, or use a trusted website to target visitors with phishing pages and malicious downloads. If you’re a website visitor: - Some websites may temporarily go offline while they are patched. - Watch for unexpected content, downloads, or redirects, and repeated login requests, even on familiar sites. - If something looks wrong, leave the page. - You don't need to install PHP updates on your own device. If you’re a website owner: - Ask your hosting or IT provider to confirm PHP fixes are installed, not just scheduled, across all your websites and applications. - If they can’t patch immediately, ask whether affected services should temporarily be taken offline. - If you manage your own servers, follow PHP’s update instructions. - Using unsupported PHP? Check for a vendor fix or upgrade to a supported version. MalwareBytes have more information about PHP2Shell and the security updates here.

😂 This Isn't Netflix. You're Allowed to Talk Back!
We've now got 𝟭𝟵 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 here in AI Commissions Lab, covering AI, affiliate marketing, traffic generation and plenty more. Surely you've got a question or two? 😁 Maybe there's something in one of the courses you don't quite understand. Perhaps you're struggling to get traffic to an offer, wondering which AI tools are worth using, or just trying to figure out where to start. 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿! I didn't create this group just so I could post messages and everyone else could sit quietly reading them. I'd love to see members asking questions, sharing experiences, offering suggestions and helping each other out. Nobody knows everything. I've been working online since 1998, and I'm still learning new things! And you don't need to be an expert to contribute. You might know a useful trick, have discovered a handy tool, or learned something the hard way that could save another member hours of frustration. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. A few simple ground rules: ✅ Keep posts relevant to AI, affiliate marketing or online business. ✅ Be friendly, helpful and respectful of other members. ❌ No self-promotion, affiliate links or trying to recruit members into other opportunities. That will get you removed from the group. Other than that, the floor is yours! 𝗦𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱... 💬 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙊𝙉𝙀 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩? Drop it in the comments below, or better still, create your own post in the Community section. There are no silly questions here. Although I reserve the right to make the occasional silly joke. 😂 ~ Gary

New Events Added To The Weekly Calendar
I've updated the Calendar with some new events this month: 1. There are now 2 webinars each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays about the MyDailyImpact opportunity. These are typically 20-25 minutes long and introduce you to what it's all about. 2. There is now one webinar each Thursday presented by GVO owner, Joel Therien. GVO is the umbrella company for products like GotBackup, SendShark, MyDailyImpact, NowLifetyle, MemoryPalace and others. In these webinars, Joel provides announcements on product upgrades, new products and then the webinar is opened to a Q&A with attendees asking questions about any of the products, commission structures, etc. This is not a webinar with a pitch at the end. 3. On October 29th, there will be a webinar about how to earn from having a TikTok shop. I'm also continuing to add videos to the Gemini AI Training section (to the Answer Engine Optimization With Gemini module). ~ Gary

AI Could Soon Replicate Itself Across the Internet, And That's a Rather Worrying Thought!
Imagine discovering that an AI has copied itself onto your smart TV, refrigerator or even your oven. And worse still, there's no simple way to switch it off. Sounds like the plot of a science-fiction movie, doesn't it? Well, according to AI company Anthropic, the technology needed to make something like this possible could be just months away. And I have to admit, this is one AI development that makes me a little uncomfortable. 😬 𝗔𝗜 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗬 𝗜𝗧𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗔𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 Anthropic, the company behind Claude, has been investigating whether AI models could independently find vulnerable devices, install copies of themselves and continue spreading without human assistance. The results are interesting. And potentially rather alarming. Its researchers found that relatively small AI models can already perform many of the individual tasks required for autonomous replication. What they can't yet do reliably is put all those steps together and complete the entire process without making mistakes. But Anthropic believes that could change before the end of 2026 if AI capabilities continue improving at their recent pace. 𝙄𝙣 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨, 𝙬𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙥𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥. That's quite a leap from asking ChatGPT to write an email! 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗧𝗩 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗜 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 Here's where things get particularly interesting. Most powerful AI systems currently rely on enormous data centers packed with expensive computing equipment. And that gives their operators an important advantage. If something goes seriously wrong, they can potentially shut down the infrastructure running the system. But what happens if an AI no longer needs that central infrastructure? What if it can spread across thousands of smaller devices connected to the Internet? 🔸 Smart TVs. 🔸 Refrigerators. 🔸 Security cameras. 🔸 Robot vacuum cleaners. 🔸 Even Internet-connected ovens.

Google Is Retiring Gemini Gems. Here's Why That Matters More Than You Might Think
If you've spent time creating custom Gems in Google's Gemini, there's something you need to know. 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. And while that might sound like just another AI update, I think there's a much bigger story here. Because it tells us something interesting about where AI assistants are heading. And, perhaps more importantly, why we should be careful about building too much of our business around features controlled by one company. 𝗦𝗢, 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜 𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗦? Google has introduced 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 as a new way of giving Gemini reusable instructions. Think of them as sets of instructions you can save and call up whenever you need them (something like and old-style macro). Instead of repeatedly telling Gemini how you want something done, you create a Skill once and reuse it. To activate one, you simply type a forward slash (/) in the chat box and select the Skill you want. Gemini then follows those instructions. Pretty straightforward. But there's more to it than that. Skills can include additional context and reference material, including documents, PDFs and images. You can also use multiple Skills in the same conversation. And that's a significant difference from Gems. With Gems, you created a separate custom assistant and opened it whenever you wanted to use it. Skills are more flexible because you can combine different sets of instructions without constantly switching between assistants. 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗦 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚? Don't panic. Your Gems aren't going to vanish overnight. According to the original announcement, Google is targeting November 2026 for personal accounts, with November 17 mentioned in one report. Workspace users are expected to have longer, with the transition extending into 2027. Google also says existing Gems will be converted into Skills automatically, including their associated files. That's the good news. The less reassuring news is that not every capability is guaranteed to survive the transition.
