Hi Dr Weir. I was born in 1951. My wife was born in 1958, unfortunately, she passed away in 2012. We had been married for 35 years. She passed on the last morning in April, so there was no deposit from SS. I went to the office to check on survivor benefits and was told my retirement excluded me from the benefits because I made too much. I now believe that I am eligible for her SS on top of my CSRS retirement. I have a telephone appointment to set it up, I believe. When I called the SS, the person answering, told me that I made too much. It took a few minutes to get her to understand that I was not on SS. Then she said I was eligible and made my phone appointment. Now I wonder if that original contact in 2012 was denied my benefit under the assumption that I was under SS .
