Coach connections overrated?
Only 4.5% of families said "coach connections" were their primary method of getting discovered by college coaches That's extremely low, and confirms a changing landscape where fewer HS, club and travel coaches have meaningful connections. D1Scholarship on X

@Stephen Coxon Appreciate your candor! I agree with what you said. How frequently is it reasonable to request that MLSNext coaches have 1on1 meetings with our son to discuss club/coach college connections and recruiting strategy sessions (monthly, quarterly)? How would you like to be incorporated in this process? Thank you!

@Stephen Coxon thx for replies. One clarification on “it’s MLS and ECNL making up 99% of all D1 rosters.”- For men D1, what percentage of rosters are direct from HS (the 99% via MLS/ECNL) versus direct International and college transfer portal?

@Stephen Coxon Hi Steve, do you believe players should have a short (under 1min) and long (3-4min) highlight video? Do you think it makes sense to have highlights focused on a single large National event like MLS Fest, or stick to footage throughout season? Thanks!
Question of the Day!
If you had to describe your playing style in three words, what would they be? Great idea to focus on this to create a catchy email subject line!

@Stephen Coxon Hi Steve, some amazing NCAA games over weekend! For 2028s, when we email coaches, and they respond “Since you are a 2028, all we can speak about is ID Camps”- What is your recommended response and next steps?
