Weekly challenge
Pick a song that’s a little out of your element. Not something crazy hard, just something different from what you normally play — a different feel, groove, or style. Spend some time practicing it and getting comfortable with it. But here’s the rule, when you record that first take, you have to post it. No overthinking it, no trying to get the perfect one. Just hit record and throw it up here. This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about pushing ourselves a little and getting better together. Let’s see what everyone comes up with.
Hey! Its great to have you!!
Right now Learn With Me is just getting started, so more lessons and classes will be coming as the community grows. The goal here isn’t just watching lessons — it’s actually practicing together and improving as a group. I wanted to get the structure up first so everyone can see where things are going while the lesson videos are being recorded. In the meantime, keep practicing whatever you're currently working on — grooves, sticking, speed, or a song — and focus on your practice. If you feel comfortable, share what you're working on or post a quick clip so everyone can see your progress. It doesn’t have to be perfect. The idea is to stay consistent, learn from each other, and keep getting better together. -F

Hoping for some feedback on my playing! I find myself rushing/dragging a lot in this song. It's cranked in my headphones while recording, but I still have a hard time following the drums. Also, my right hand gets very tired. I'd like to work on tightening up my transitions, as well as cleaning up my rolls. I'm self taught, so if there are any glaring issues with my technique please let me know!

Sheeesh… 9999999 takes must have taken a day and a half at least. 🤣 Overall it actually sounded really solid. Your feel and energy were there, especially for being self-taught. Nothing really jumped out as a glaring issue. Headphones can do that sometimes. When the guitars are blasting and the drums in the track are simple, your brain starts following the guitar instead of the groove and you end up speeding up. There are apps that let you silence instruments so you can lock in on the drums. That’s something I use and it helps a lot, but there are different ways to approach it. For the right arm getting tired, it could mean two things building endurance or needing to relax a bit more. Try loosening your grip and letting the stick rebound more. once you get that rebound working, everything feels easier. Your rolls actually looked good to me. When I struggled with rolls I used to carry sticks everywhere and practice whenever I could. A practice pad helps a lot too. But that’s why we’re here . to improve together. Really good job though. Keep posting. Let’s get the page filled with videos.

I will be posting new videos here shortly, but with that. I want to see this community filled with videos and updates! Excited to see where this goes.

Welcome Gabriel!
Glad you joined. is there anything you're currently working on with your drumming right now? Could be a groove, speed, fills, a song, anything. If you're able to share what you're working on, that would be awesome. If not, totally fine too — just glad to have you here.

Haha no roasting here my friend. We’re all here for the same reason, to get better and support each other. Whenever you’ve got the time, definitely post that video. Looking forward to seeing it. Also if there’s anything you want help with, let me know. If it’s something useful for everyone I can even make a quick recorded video about it. Glad to have you here.
