My creative writing place
I want to tell you about something I've been building—a space that's for me as a writer, not me wearing my hat as your coach. You know me here as the person who helps you untangle your stories, find your voice, and get your books written. That's my coaching world, and I love it. But I'm also a writer with my own creative practice, my own messy drafts, and my own journey through the blank page. That's what my Substack is for. It's a space I've been craving. It will be my creative lab—where I share behind-the-scenes of my fiction writing, experiments with craft, reflections on the writing life, slow living, and the kind of personal essays and musings that dig deeper into my creative self. Think of it this way: here in W.R.I.T.E. Society, I'm your coach and cheerleader. On Substack, I'm your fellow writer. I'll still share some personal projects and writing updates here—you're not missing out! But if you want the deeper side of my creative world, the more intimate reflections and experiments, that's where you'll find it. It's free to subscribe, and it's a different flavor of me—one I think you'll enjoy. You can find it here: https://tracystewartauthor.substack.com/ This community isn't going anywhere; we're growing and building a lovely space together. This is still your home for coaching, support, and getting your writing done. Substack is just where I get to explore the messier, more personal side of the craft alongside you. ✍️ See you there?

Weekly Goal-Setting Post:
It's Monday. Fresh week. Clean slate. Here's the thing about writing goals: they don't have to be ambitious to be powerful. You don't need to write 5,000 words this week to make progress. You don't need a perfectly blocked-out schedule or ideal conditions. You just need to show up. Maybe it's 15 minutes before your coffee gets cold. Maybe it's a lunch break scribble. Maybe it's voice notes that you'll transcribe later. Maybe it's one scene, one chapter, one paragraph that moves your story forward. It all counts. The writers I work with who actually finish their books aren't the ones waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect word count. They're the ones who commit to the consistency, however small. So here's your Monday invitation: What's one writing commitment you can make to yourself this week? Not what you should do. What you'll actually do? Write it down. Tell someone. Make it real. Then come back here on Friday and tell us what you accomplished. Because showing up matters. Your story matters. And so do you. What's your writing goal this week? I'll pop mine in the comments👇 Photo by Brandon Griggs on Unsplash

@Tracy Stewart thank you and thanks for the reminder! Will go and check the timing now and add to my planner if it's aligned to my schedule. 🙌

@Tracy Stewart love the 15min day commitment, that feels so doable! And congrats for getting your rights back for your trilogy, what a power move 🎊⚡️💛
Welcome back to the 'Ber months 🍁🍂
I'm a total autumn lover and today marks the start of meteorological autumn, which makes me happy. I find July and August challenging in terms of written creativity, so I've learned to build that into my process. For me autumn is the season that bridges the warmth of summer and the chill of winter. In the UK, Europe and North America, it’s most vividly marked by the changing colours of leaves and the scents and smells of the earth. There's something grounding about it. It feels like the start of a new year and I start my annual planner from 1st September too, it's the new January! Perhaps it has something to do with the fresh start to the academic year and the joy of new pencil cases and exercise books... There are two main ways to define the start of autumn in the northern hemisphere where I live: meteorological and astronomical. Meteorological autumn begins on 1 September and ends on 30 November. This fixed date system is used by meteorologists to ensure consistency in seasonal statistics and forecasting. Astronomical autumn, on the other hand, is determined by the Earth’s orbit around the Sun and its axial tilt. It begins with the autumn equinox, which typically falls on 22 or 23 September. During the equinox, the Sun shines directly on the equator, resulting in nearly equal day and night lengths across the globe. In 2025, astronomical autumn will begin on Monday, 22 September and end on Sunday, 21 December. What are your favourite writing seasons? Or perhaps you find you can write throughout the year? I'd love to know how you respond to the seasons.

@Tracy Stewart yes, I can feel that way too. I do enjoy the light and warmth, but it can be overstimulating too. Autumn and spring feel the most balanced and stable with the more equal light and equinox seasons. 💛

@Georgiana D agree, each season brings its own gifts. 💛✨️
Let’s Talk Writing Rituals!
Writers, we all have our quirks—maybe it’s a favourite mug, a playlist, or writing before breakfast. Others just scribble whenever a window of opportunity opens! What’s your favourite way to get started with your writing? - Do you have a go-to routine or little ritual? - Is there a snack or drink you always have nearby? - Any unusual habits or “writing superstitions” you want to confess? Share below—no detail too small! Who knows, you may inspire another in the group! I'll share mine in the comments. If you want some fresh ideas to make writing a habit, don’t forget to download our “Writing Habits That Stick” One Pager in the resources section. It’s full of tiny, practical tips!

@Tracy Stewart I think it can come in waves! I don't always use them. But definitely adds to the feel good factor ☺️🌿✨️
