Hello, seems like a nice place. I am Felix 29 years old. I worked as a programmer at a company developing training simulations in VR. Loved working there as they gave me a lot of room to learn new things and I even had my own project that I was leading within the year that I started working there. I was happy they were happy, client were happy future was looking bright, but fate struck and last March I got a stroke. With my contract only for until last August and recovery going well but taking longer than that, I suddenly was out of a job. Tried getting back to my old job now that I am almost fully recovered, but they are running into some financial issues so they currently do not have the means to hire me as a fte. So I am back looking for a job. I am not as bummed out about it as I thought I would be because I now have a lot of time to work on my own projects like making fun silly games, and looking into creating my own homelab, one reason why I am here. Looking forward to learn with everyone. Of course I will need a job, so I hope the skills I need for creating the homelab I envision will help me with that. I also would very much like to get involved somehow with helping the EU to move away from most US tech. This seems like a place where I can get some relevant knowledge that might help me with that ambition.
