The dirty little secret most business owners will not admit 🤫
Almost every business owner I talk to has the same secret. They will admit it on a call, quietly, about ten minutes in. Never in public. They are cheating on their business. Not with a person. With another business idea. They look at someone else's offer, someone else's niche, someone else's audience, and think: that looks easier than what I am doing. If I just had a better niche. A better audience. If I launched the other thing, it would finally click. Here is the question nobody asks them. If you are not willing to build a real system inside the business you already have, what makes you think the next one will be any different? Most owners do not need a new business. They need a better machine around the one that already feeds them. Because boredom in business is real. You get tired of saying the same thing. Tired of posting. Tired of explaining what you do. Tired of chasing leads. So your brain goes shopping for a new vehicle, and shopping feels like progress. It is not. It is the most expensive kind of quitting there is. The move is not start over. The move is build a better front end for the thing that already pays you. Sharpen the offer until it is lemonade stand clear. Say the message the same way every time. Build a system that turns attention into trust and trust into booked calls. That is what the Academy teaches for free, and it is why the Lab and Truck walkthrough is the first thing I point people to after you get through the basics. If you are past needing more lessons and you want the whole system installed with you, that is what the Accelerator is. It is for owners who are done bouncing between ideas. I work with you every week to get more customers for your business, or more members for your community. Every day you spend staring at someone else's business is a day your own stays harder than it needs to be. If you're ready to grow your business, see if you qualify for the Accelerator here: https://oneawaystudios.com/content-marketing-accelerator-application-full

An ad is a faucet, not a strategy
One of the owners in that room in LA told me they had to cut their ad spend twice this year. Not because the ads stopped working. Because the calendar was full. That is the whole point of paid. It is a faucet. You turn it up when you need work and down when you do not. Which means the ad was never the strategy. The ad is a tap. A faucet only pays when there is plumbing behind it. Most people turn the water on before anything is connected, then decide ads do not work in their industry. Here is the plumbing, in order. One page that says three things and nothing else. Who it is for. The outcome they get. Proof it has worked. That is it. Every extra thing you add is another reason to leave. A second page that keeps selling. After they opt in, do not go quiet. Give them a case study, a short video, and exactly what to expect on the call. A follow up measured in minutes. Not days. Call, text, voicemail, email. The lead is warm for about as long as a cup of coffee. And one more thing that cost me money before I learned it. Cheap things are expensive. Chasing the cheapest possible lead fills your week with people who were never going to buy, and your week is worth more than the click. Build the plumbing. Then open the tap. Question for you: if you turned ads on tomorrow, which part of that plumbing is missing?
