Your biggest win from the last few days?
Hi Thrivers, What is your biggest win from this past weekend or last week? It can be food related or completely unrelated to food. Post below! For me, it felt great to take my kids up to the nearby ski hill and get some work done while they were skiing. Food wise, that ski day was a fasting day for me. Intermittent fasting is something I practice, it’s helped me heal my insulin resistance and improve insulin sensitivity. Well, the kids went skiing and left their French fries on the table where I was working. French fries can be a trigger for me, cuz I love them. I took care of myself by covering up the French fries with a napkin and moving them to the other side of the table. It helped me to not feel tempted to eat them and I had a great fasting day! I broke my fast this morning with a big plate of veggies, humus for protein, and avocado for fat. It was delicious!

Overcoming stress and not overeating... There has been a lot of sickness at work which means I'm doing multiple jobs at once. My go to for that has been eating things I shouldn't or overeating. But, I resisted and that is a huge accomplishment.
Name of our group- feedback requested!
Hi Everyone, You might have noticed that I changed the name of our group from Overcoming Food Addiction to Thrive! I did that because thriving is our ultimate goal, while overcoming food addiction is one of the processes we take to get there. What do you think…do you like the old name or new name better? Enter your feedback in the poll below-

If you’re new to this group, welcome! 🎉🎊🎈 This group is part of social media, but we also take a stand against a lot of what social media stands for. We are not here to numb out or disconnect, or scroll mindlessly. We are here to connect deeply, internally, as well as with others. We are here to slow down, be present, create more freedom in our lives, claim our inner strength, and experience ecstatic joy. Here’s a new member checklist- 1) 🥇Introduce yourself- where are you from? what brings you joy and lights you up? What do you hope to get out of this group? Either make a new post for your introduction, or post below. 2) 🥈Go through the Your Journey Starts Here section in the Classroom. There is lots of introductory information there to help you make the most out of this group! 3) Check the pinned posts at the top of the community. You will find upcoming events and important information there. Join a live event if you can! I believe that together we can create an amazing space of support, encouragement, and accountability. I’m so happy you’re here!

I'm Emily and I have lived in Colorado for 8 years. I grew up in SE GA (20 minutes above the Florida border). I've struggled with food since about the age of 21. I have been in fluctuation with my weight since my last kid 10 years ago (and even some before that). I had gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago and am still learning to have healthier eating habits. The things that bring me joy are my kids and all their accomplishments and my husband always supporting me. I hope to learn some tricks to flipping the switch in my mind with food and the way I think about eating, recipes, and workout tips.
