😎 what is one business decision you want to make with more confidence?
hi! I am currently researching how RIA owners and operators make business decisions. We know firms have more data then ever, but I found that many spend quite a bit of time handling the data in order to make their decisions. Coming to the crowd to get your opinion please- What is the one business question about your firm that you wish was much easier to answer? No software recommendations or vendor opinions please, the questions themselves are the most important part here. Things that would be helpful to know: - A question you have about your business that requires data from multiple systems. - Something you still estimate instead of measure. - A metric you have to build yourself before you can use it. - A decision that's harder than it should be because the information isn't readily available. I'm doing research right now, so appreciative of any thoughts. DM's are also open! thank you!

@Mark Hany love this, thank you for sharing! I've not heard about the decision window closing, but it makes sense. I'm sure that is frustrating on the timing- are there times when you would have made a different decision but the info was too late?

@Mark Hany best quote of the day "a steady tax on a bad decision"! That is much harder to quantify than a single bad decision, which probably makes it easier to accept as "just the way things are." Thank you for sharing your perspective!
ProAdvisorSuite is live!!!
While I'm still involved with Simplicity Ops, as a separate business venture, I've been up to something really exciting for a few reasons: - help independent firms save money - helping to simplify the tech stack selection process - provide resources around integrations across the tech stack - ...and also to bring awareness to friends/colleagues that are working very hard to make awesome advisortech! Congrats Joe and grateful to be a part of it!
Do you track client revenue in the CRM?
I'm wondering if this is something that advisors would want, or if they'd prefer to keep that information in their billing/portfolio management tool.

@Brandon Moss @Anand Sheth @Joe Moss this is something we are working on getting directly into CRMs. We are getting varying information on what advisors want to see in there and how.

@Kevin Stephison Good to know- are you manually putting that data into your CRM?
Contracts / Billing / Smart Kx / Redtail
Pretty cool Redtail integration that Smart Kx has built to import contracts and fee activities into Redtail. Check it out here. @Lacey Shrum

Thank you @Joe Moss @Anand Sheth and @Kate Guillen, looking forward to getting to hang with both groups this month!
New Client Profile Intake Forms
With the switch from TDA to Schwab, we're looking to update our Client Profile intake form that we use with new clients to obtain all the info needed to prepare new account paperwork. We're going to try and make it look “pretty" at the same time. Does anyone have an intake form (.pdf, Jotform link, etc.) they really like that they’d be willing to share for inspiration?

@Lisa Albers thanks Lisa, what about the client-firm contract, specifically the fee arrangement (usually the "Exhibit A") that says what accounts you'll bill and how. Are you manually putting this in the contract and then manually putting it into your fee calc?

Hi! Advisors hate everything to do with fees... I built Smart Kx to solve that. Also a forever learner, opinionated, loudly-dressed tech founder.
