My take on Asteroids 1 shot prompt (with 10 prompts, fully featured game with boss levels, powerups etc))
Hi All, Here is my take on Asteroids. This was done mostly in one prompt, with another 8 or 9 prompts refining things, adding sound, tweaking a little bit of the gameplay and making the menu screen more appealing. It has 11 different asteroid types, many weapon and other power ups (some really cool ones, wait until you try the TESLA lightning bolt), 3 boss levels and boss rush mode, smart bomb, a particle lab for experimentation, high scores, touch controls and more. I have been actively creating neon vector arcade games which helps massively as creating something new within the context of my previous games has massive upside in terms of what I'm able to achieve in a single pass.https://hyper-friendly-shapes.lovable.app Anyway, it's called Hyperoids (temp name, sounds a bit too close to hemorrhoids so need to change that) and was really just an experiment done on the sofa while watching a movie. But I do think it has potential and the speed of getting it to this level was astonishing. It does need more spectacular particle effects (that's why I added the particle lab, so I can experiment with effects without burning through credits) as I want it to be the Asteroids equivalent of Geometry Wars for those who remember that game on the xbox360.

Great work @Pete Clarke ! Looks very polished but it's way to hard to play because of the acceleration of the space ship ๐Ÿ˜
Game Jams & New Videos
Big thanks to @Sascha Ahlers for pointing out that a very cool, AI focused, game jam is going on at the moment. Here are the deets: - Sascha's detailed post on this here and his game submission Snowball Arena - Ends 14 days from this post going out so jump in now! - Quick link here - Some amazing game submissions, check out: Slingshot , Iron Dome (Missile Command!!!) - Love the portals idea, highly recommend you integrate this - Cash prizes: $25,000 top prize... nice! Let me know if you would like help with a submission to this game jam. I'm brainstorming a submission myself so let me know if you would like a video covering my attempt!

I built a Vibe Jam game about building a Vibe Jam game
Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹ Just submitted my entry for the Vibe Jam and I wanted to share it here because honestly - this community will get it more than anyone. The game is called Ship It: https://shipit.nootcode.de/ It's a meta game jam game. You play a developer who has 14 days to submit a game. You pick ideas, watch days fly by and playtest half-finished prototypes. At the end you have to choose: which one do you submit? The twist: all the mini-games inside are real prototypes I actually built during this jam. A snowball arena. A spin brawler. A castle crusher. None of them finished. All of them real. Built with vanilla JS and HTML5 - no engine. The mini-games inside use Three.js and Phaser, because that's just how it went. Would love to hear which game you would have submitted. There's a community vote at the end ๐Ÿ‘€

Use Cursor? You may want to watch this!
SpaceX's S-1 IPO filing reveals an option to acquire Cursor for $60 billion โ€” a 30x premium over Cursor's planned $2B funding round and eight times Microsoft's $7.5B GitHub acquisition. The deal makes sense in context: Google's CEO says 75% of Google's new code is AI-generated (up from 50% last fall), and Anthropic writes 70-90% of its own code with Claude Code. SpaceX merged with xAI in 2025 and is building GPUs with Intel through Terafab โ€” buying Cursor gives them the dominant position in AI-assisted development to fuel their full stack. The biggest risk isn't Cursor disappearing; it's the model-agnostic IDE tilting toward Grok as the default, the same way Azure became the default after Microsoft bought GitHub. Are you worried about this?

Hard decision between Maybe and Yes. At the moment, Cursor is my daily tool and I don't want to switch. I switched lately from ChatGPT to Claude, thats enough change for me lol. I mean, f*** you Elon. Go play Diablo or Path of Exile, stop paying others to play your accounts and try to get some real achievements in games, so you stop being a problem in the real world.
Game of Anticipation - a candidate for Vibe Game Jam?
Still early but the direction is clear enough that I wanted to get some outside eyes on it before going deeper. The concept: a browser game where the interface itself is the puzzle. No enemies, no physics โ€” just you and your assumptions about how UI works. Every stage looks familiar. A loading screen. A form. A leaderboard. Except none of them behave the way you expect. The core question I keep asking myself while building it: where's the line between "ha, got me" and "this is just annoying"? I have opinions but I'm probably too close to it at this point. It's playable right now, maybe 5โ€“10 minutes, clearly unfinished in places: https://goa.nootcode.de Two things I'd love feedback on: 1. Does the concept feel fresh enough to stand out in a jam, or is the "subverted UI" space too crowded? 2. Which stage felt unfair vs. which felt like a fair surprise in hindsight? Be harsh. It's a prototype.
