Starter Pack part 4: Monetizing your list
We had to wait months for the third part of the Daily Email House Starter Pack... ... but only one day for the fourth and final part. This part is about monetizing your list. Since this is a general guide, without reference to you or your list specifically, I'm limited in what advice I can give you. But I still came up with a useful pointer. If you'd like to read it: Starter Pack part 4

This is a great reminder! And makes me think that as a coach maybe i should always add a 1:1 option to any course I have, which would be more useful and demand a higher price. Doesn't help with scalability, does improve price on products for an engaged list
How do you deal with trolls, critics, and know-it-alls in your audience?
I just checked the Amazon reviews of my new 10 Commandments book. I have a new 2-star review. My instinctive reaction was to write a new email all about it. It's going out tonight. The idea being, take any energy, including negative energy, and redirect it into something useful, like an email, or like this post here. At the same time, I've also silently unsubscribed a few people from my list over the past few days for replying to my emails with messages that I found frustrating or stupid. Here's an example, in reply to an email in which I said I have friends of 20+ years and ex-girlfriends reading my newsletter: "Just FYI, you cannot have 'girl' friends for 20 +years. They may have started out girls but by the time they reach 18, they have become women.Β Thanks," So I thought we could maybe start a little discussion? How do you deal with bad reviews, unfair refunds, and replies to emails that bother you or waste your time? Maybe we can collect the ideas that bubble up and create a valuable community resource.

I love using it as content. Always a fun time... and a warning
Post-party update (yes, I am still alive)
It is the DAY AFTER The first Daily Email House pool party and associated "I endorse YOU" auction wrapped up yesterday at 6pm my time. All the partygoers were beautifully behaved, a real peace-love-understanding-respect crowd. Today I found no broken glass, no food on the floor, and no pee in the pool (from what I can tell at least). Still, it's a bit of a mess after every party. Since yesterday was a banger, it's gonna take me a while to clean up. All that's to say: - If you have DM'ed me over the past 18 or so hours, and I haven't gotten back to you yet, I will get back to you. - If you participated in the auction and are wondering where your promised PARTICIPATION POOL PARTY FAVOR is, it's coming. (I gotta write it up, but I can tease you by saying it is something we have already voted on in this community and have seen significant interest in.) - As for prizes for intermediate top-bidder winners: @Thomas Lalas - wins a physical copy of the best book I have found to date on the topic of SHOWMANSHIP. Will send it out... soon. @Yehoshua Kahan - wins licensing rights to one of my courses, to sell in perpetuity and keep 100% of the money. I'm already in touch with Yehoshua about which of my courses he wants to claim. Best/funniest comment prize - I will announce that in a special post, because it's deserving of a special post. But partygoers probably have a good sense of who's gonna win it. Special thanks to both @Maliha M and @Chris Dyson, who were helping me behind the scenes, and without whom this party wouldn't be what it turned out to be. And now... At this point, it's little secret who our auction winner is. But still it deserves repeating and putting into lights as much as possible: Our AUCTION WINNER IS.. 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ @Nick Bandy!!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Announcing: The winner of the Daily Email House weekly contest
Over the past week ran we ran a contest here inside Daily Email House to find the winning... "Success you've had from an email you've sent this week." It turned out to be unpleasantly hard to make a selection, particularly because pretty much everybody had a success that illustrates a great behavior or attitude if you wanna have long term success with a personal email list or online biz: - @Shaina Keren - new testimonial from a high status person - @Marlene Roberson - successful promo of an affiliate offer - @Christian Howes - persevering with emailing in the face of a bunch of unsubscribes in one day - @Caroline Shine and @Matt Perryman - getting back to emailing after a break - @Steph Benedetto and @Chavy Helfgott - reaching out to audience for market intel and then pursuing the investigation via a 1:1 conversation - @Nick Bandy - promoting his community and trying a much more direct and shorter email Still, I had to pick a contest winner, and as promised, I done it. And so, I would like to announce that this week's contest winner is... ... drumroll... ... lights... ... quiet, please... ... opening the envelope... Marlene, with her on-fire affiliate promo!!! I feel I should explain why the Academy voted as it did: Marlene's success was at heart about making sales, and it's encouraging to all of us to hear that's possible and happening right now. Beyond that, here's what I spotted in Marlene's success: 1. A sexy affiliate offer. Yes, you can sell stuff and have zero delivery worries. 2. Course or info products aren't dead. (I'm assuming this is an info product?) 3. Good copy still matters. (Marlene was applying the very product she was promoting, about how to tease people along, and it worked.)

Congrats @Marlene Roberson !!
I have a pool now
A few people have expressed skepticism about the "use your email list to pay for a house" bit, which features in the mission statement of this group. I've been open from the beginning what this means: In most places in the U.S. and around the world, you can cover your monthly rent or mortgage payments with around $3k. $3k/month is very doable with an email list, in a quick period of time. Thing is, "make $3k a month" isn't really all that sexy of a promise. But "pay for a house" is. You wanna see how sexy? A couple weeks ago I moved to a new apartment. I have a large terrace, and on the terrace... I have a pool. (Photo below, Christmas-themed Bejako for scale. The owl is there to scare pigeons away. It doesn't work.) My pool is about the size of a refrigerator. No matter. It's the first place I've ever lived that has a pool. And it happens to be part of my own apartment, in the very center of Barcelona. My email list paid for this, and continues to pay for it month after month. You too can do the same, and the point of this group is to help you get there. By the way, I'm using my new pool as a jokey theme for the auction I'll be running starting tomorrow: POOL PARTY. You're invited to the pool party. The time: Tomorrow, Wednesday December 10, at 6pm CET/12 noon EST/9am PST Place: right here, inside Daily Email House. Bring your inflatable flamingo float.
