Hello everyone! My name is Eugene Rose, and I'm a Director/DP based in Washington DC. I've been doing this for about 5 years professionally, and about a decade altogether. Got my start at Northern Virginia Community College, where I literally took every class they had before the formal AFA program was created. Even got to go to the Czech Republic to direct a short film in 2018. Now, I work in the DC government, where I get to put everything I've learned to the test. It got me an opportunity to work on a PSA for the mayor's office, where I got a regional emmy nom a couple of years ago. In post for two shorts I've shot over the last couple of years, and I want to do one more short before I go all in on a feature film. 1 is close to going out the door, and the other, I'm dragging my feet on. The end goal would be to marry everything I've learned over the past decade into a true feature directing career. Would love tips on administrative things, like how to set up your film to be a union production or setting expectations with friends/family so you can make space to do the creative bits. Any advice is welcome and I'm happy to be apart of this community!
