Do you think the body remembers things the mind forgets?
Lately I’ve been realizing how much stress my body holds without me noticing tight shoulders, shallow breathing, always feeling on. I’m starting to explore somatic work and nervous system regulation instead of trying to think my way into healing. Curious What was the first somatic practice or realization that genuinely changed you?

@Brandy Lozier That makes a lot of sense to me. I’m starting to realize how much the body can stay in protection mode even when the mind thinks it’s ā€œmoved on.ā€ Somatic work has been helping me understand that healing isn’t just mental — it’s physical too.

@Jessica Amaya-Jimenez I really appreciate you sharing this, a memory doesn’t have to be cognitiveā€ honestly feels like such an important realization. I think I’m only beginning to understand that healing can happen through sensation, emotion, and physical release not just through mentally understanding what happened. What you said about the body giving feedback as it releases really resonates. It’s making me more curious about approaching myself with less analysis and more listening.
