Why December Is a Smart Time to Start Bidding on Government Contracts
The government bidding process starts with having your basics in place. Your UEI identifies your business, and your CAGE Code verifies it so you can legally bid. Once those are ready, you can respond to open solicitations that match your services. December is often overlooked, but it’s when many agencies rush to use remaining budgets before the year ends. This is a great breakdown and very accurate. A lot of businesses focus on finding contracts but skip the basics, not realizing UEI and CAGE are what actually make you eligible to bid.

Absolutely, I understand it can feel overwhelming at first. Yes, I actually use a simple framework to quickly identify where someone should focus to grow here: 1. Clarity: What’s your goal funding, partnerships, or contract opportunities?2. Capacity: What resources or documents do you already have in place?3. Consistency: How often you engage, apply, or show up.4. Positioning: How well you present your story, mission, and value. Once I know these four things about you, it becomes very easy to point you in the right direction and show you what to focus on first.
