Manufactured spending: Buying groups
I didn't see any post about this topic so I wanted to share my experience. I started doing MS (Manufactured spending) through buying groups beginning of the year as I got multiple cards with welcome bonus approved at the same time and didn't have enough real expenses to meet all minimum spends. Buying groups are companies asking you to buy things from them (they use discounted retail price to make a margin selling for wholesale/export). They are telling you what to buy, where, which price you are purchasing/selling it and you can directly ship the items directly to them so you don't have to store somewhere in the US. You can find items they are buying same price you are purchasing, sometimes with extra profit but in many cases slight loss that you compensate with your points/cashback/welcome bonus I'm currently using three of them for more than $20K, BMFR (the fastest), Buying group and maxoutdeals (that was under FBI investigation). I also used gcqc.io to resell giftcard (same theory but not to with Amex) The easiest suppliers are amazon, woot, homedepot as many of the other ones are blocking the buying group delivery address so you have to slightly modify the address or ship it to a personal address and forward to them (they can provide shipping label) but that's more complicate remotely. @Ain - Cloud Resident can I share my referral links?

Thanks for this post, you introduced me to buying groups and I've already joined some.
Has anyone been able to do banking in a different country other than the US?
Same as with US banking but with maybe a country in Europe or Latin America that's worth it

Synchrony Cards no longer non-us friendly
Hi, Last week I requested a third Synchrony card, it was approved and all, but when creating/adding the card to my existing login it asks me to create a "New login experience user" which requires state ID or Green card, I couldn't find a way Technically you can still apply/use it but paying as a guest
E*TRADE debit card/account: opened without ITIN or SSN
I was able to get an E*TRADE cash/brokerage account with debit card without an ITIN or SSN, using my foreign address during the process. A few useful things about it: - No monthly maintenance fee - E*TRADE Mastercard debit card - the card can be mailed to a US mailing address (or maybe even foreign) - supports bill pay can be used to pay credit cards - comes with ACH and routing number - unlimited ATM fee refunds worldwide (yet to be tested) For non-US residents, this can be a pretty practical option if you just want a light, easy-to-get US banking for basic payments, debit card use, ATM access, and paying US credit cards.
