This is one of the things that's stopping me from moving my Spanish speaking community into Skool. Any chance this will be implemented any time soon? Appreciated!
@N S I think it refers to being part of something that has the following characteristics: - Like minded individuals working towards a common goal - Rituals, ceremonies, rites - Heroes & Villains - Stories, common history, myths, legends, jokes - Slang - Symbols and symbolic action - Similar beliefs, assumptions and mental models - Similar attitudes - A specific set of rules, norms, ethical codes and values Basically, a community is a reflection of a "village" where people share culture created by the same community. If you think about people who belong to a certain religion, they all share this characteristics. If you think about tribes (hip-hop fans, soccer fans, political parties, crypto-bros, etc.) they all have these things.
@Earnie Boyd From my experience the thin line has to do with the morals of the group, as any community in reality is a success of having built culture. There are some bad cultures (such as those cults that commit mass suicide or use coercive methods) and good cultures (communities focused on improving your life). In fact, the original meaning for cult was ‘inhabited, cultivated, worshipped’. In the end it's kinda like a knife: You can use it to cut bread or cut someone. But the knife by itself is not good or bad. My two cents :)
