Outfit of the morning! While vacationing, I have a client call this morning so I am prepped and ready to go! Back to the mountain dress after the meeting. Video-Conference Outfit: Warm Browns, Ecru, and Oxblood • Jacket — DOJ-011 (John W. Nordstrom): A mid-brown, cream, and dark-brown Glen-check sport coat in cashmere and silk. Its bold texture provides visual interest on camera while maintaining polished business-casual formality. • Trousers — SL-010 (di Milano): Tailored brown wool slacks with subtle dark-brown static lines and a matte finish. Their restrained pattern anchors the more expressive jacket. • Shirt — DS-020 (Nordstrom): A blue cotton SmartCare dress shirt with faint-white diamond dobby texture, two-button barrel cuffs, and a point collar. The recommended 2.75-inch collar stays keep the collar crisp on video. • Undershirt — US-003 (Pro Club): A white cotton crew-neck undershirt. It provides a clean foundation beneath the highly opaque blue shirt. • Tie — NT-056 (Rampley & Co.): A solid ecru knitted tie in a matte wool-cashmere blend. Its soft texture and light neutral color bridge the blue shirt and warm Glen-check jacket without competing with either. • Pocket Square — PS-017 (Fort Belvedere): A brown, blue, light-blue, and tan paisley silk square. It echoes the jacket and shirt colors while adding a controlled flourish. • Belt — B-011 (Hanks): The Esquire Raised leather belt in Havana brown with white edge stitching and a silver buckle. Its warm leather coordinates naturally with the trousers and footwear. • Footwear — DSh-021 (Cobbler Union): Marco 722 Derby shoes in top-grade European calfskin with a hand-burnished oxblood finish. The deeper toe-and-heel patina adds richness while preserving a business-formal silhouette. This is part of the 24-hour break-in period I do for new leather shoes, trying to do it all indoors. • Socks — DSo-080 (Bresciani): Over-the-calf Cotton Lisle socks in chocolate brown and copper. Their alternating ribbed shadow stripe quietly links the trousers to the oxblood shoes.

This financial advisor’s advice on clothing (old and new)
In my over 42 year adult professional career in institutional and personal finance, 27 years have involved helping families with their financial journey. In my eyes, building a quality classic timeless wardrobe fits that journey hand in glove. During my 10 years as a professional clothing advisor previously, I recall Harold Powell telling me that his stores had a philosophy of narrow and deep versus the trendy department or fashion oriented stores (the box chains today) who had a philosophy of wide and shallow. In other words in a Harold’s store there were charcoal grey, medium grey, Navy, Olive and or tan suits predominately solid with some muted patterns in the suit section (as opposed to a broad array of colors at our competitors. This meant that one could get the brand one could afford and had, for him, the best fit and he could wear that suit for decades knowing that it would be perpetually “in style”. Financially this still makes a great deal of sense to me be that a suit, sport coat, trouser, shoe or tie (shirts and socks simply don’t have the same resiliency and a shorter life longevity ). My basic advice is to buy things that will last but prudently stay within one’s budget. Less is more. If one were to allocate 1% of one’s income to clothing (after one has $1,000 minimum emergency funds and ZERO!!!! debt on anything but a home PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!) then if all one can afford is one navy blazer and grey trouser for dress wear that’s just fine. That will suffice in 90% of circumstances. To do that math - say a guy has $70,000 disposable income with only a mortgage as a liability-spending $700 on a navy blazer, trouser, shoe, belt, shirt, and tie would be very reasonable. While there are a million iterations of this (3%, 5% even perhaps 10% but never on credit)-It’s the concept I am trying to get across: Buy the best classic timeless dress outfit you can presently afford based upon your limits AND SET THE LIMITS. Having preached this since the early 1980s here is how I do that. I shop sales. I will illustrate using today’s OOTD

Sounds good. I Just Go to the second Hand Shop and offer 100 percent of wool trousers fo 1 to 4 Euro. And they still Looks good. The Same with Jackets, where the Problem ist honestly a little bigger withe the adjustment. While i can adjust trousers very simple fo 20 Euro per piece i Just cant find Jackets with shorter Arms.problem.. But in Case i could build a more or less quality timeless wardrobe by 1000 Euro. (I found some Higher quality leather Shows also..for 6 Euro and owned 5 pairs) ITS Not the as someone WHO earnes 7000 Euro per month, but i think ITS reality. I am Not able to buy the Things WHO showed me in advertising but maybe ITS a good Point to Look for pieces with Charisma. On the other Hand i will have enough Money for new high quality basics while i Go to second Hand Store. Unless i would spend too much Money in wardrobe.
