Hi all. I've Already introduced myself, but I figured I'd do it again because once I looked at the seven-day activity challenge, I'm somewhat out of sync. But I probably will catch up rather quickly because most of the things I've done already. However, as I mentioned earlier, my name is Eric. I'm in central FL, but originally from a small town in North Carolina. Lumberton, to be exact. I'm a member of the indigenous people of the Lumbee tribe in that state. The reason I want to sell art on eBay is because I'm sick and tired of painting for all these years and just continue to build up inventory that no one has even really seen. I get lots of comments and compliments on my work, but as Corbellic summed it up, it does no good just to sit in the corners and just gather dust, so I'm going to give it a go. As I grow older and my career in the theme park industry, design, and corporate world approaches its conclusion in a few years, I feel it's time to transition into something I have enjoyed for most of my life. And that's the painting. My goal isn't really to target a number just yet, but it would be nice to get an extra 2K a month. I think that I can do that at some point as we get through this journey together, and my current time that I can commit to; aside from my freelancing & consulting work is probably 20 to 30 hours a week for now. And that's probably working all crazy hours around the day. I have one main fear about starting: investing my time, money, and resources only to struggle with motivation later on. However, I believe this is the best time for me to pursue this endeavor. I am hopeful that, eventually, it will help sustain me during my retirement years.

@Corbellic Studio Absolutely. Thank you sir. Will be great to speak to you live soon😊
Studio and Supplies are in order
My studio and supplies are mostly set up, as I've been painting for a while. The biggest change is my collection of canvases, ranging from 9 by 12 inches to 18 by 24 inches, with larger ones in my garage for special, realistic paintings that take weeks to finish. I also have a couple of small Bluetooth projectors; one I recently bought from Amazon, allowing me to send pictures directly from my phone without cables. I can also upload images to my laptop and connect via HDMI, making the process quick and easy. My recent costs have been several hundred dollars, which include more basic paints, a few brushes, and the canvas and paper inventory. Also, a mention: some start-up costs for subscriptions :0/

DAY 2: Research eBay — Find 10 Sold Paintings
Task:Go to eBay. Search "original acrylic painting" or "original canvas art." Filter by SOLD listings (left sidebar). Find 10 paintings that sold and screenshot them. Post the screenshots in the Day 2 thread and share: - What subjects sold (animals, landscapes, flowers, abstracts, portraits) - What sizes sold - What price range you're seeing ($50? $150? $200?) - What style catches your eye that you'd want to try Bonus: Find one painting that sold for over $100 and break down why you think it sold. Why:This is real. People are buying art on eBay every single day. You need to see the proof with your own eyes before you believe it. This research shows you exactly what buyers want. Proof Format: "DAY 2: Here are 10 paintings that sold on eBay. [Screenshots]Subjects I saw: [list]Price range: $[X] - $[X]Style I want to try: [style]One that sold for $100+: [screenshot] — I think it sold because [reason]." - Example

I've been looking at a lot of recent sales on eBay, focusing on what sold just today. I've noticed a wide variety of styles selling at different price ranges, with no particular theme or intent. There were many that had some sort of animal or abstract approach, however. On average, prices are at or below $50, and many of the typical sizes range from 9 by 12 inches to 12 by 24 inches. I've seen a few pieces sell for over $100, with one painting, in particular, selling for $300. This painting caught my eye because it had a whimsical style inspired by a song without directly resembling it. The piece that sold for $300 featured two reindeer playing football, aptly named "Reindeer Games." This title adds a fun touch to the seasonal theme, likely motivating buyers since we are in December. The colors are cool and subtle, evoking the feeling of being outside in the cold while the reindeer enjoy themselves, unaware of the spectators nearby, whether they are us or the rabbits on the side. I would love to explore a whimsical style, perhaps by reimagining a vintage IP character through a Cubism art form that evokes nostalgia with its color palette. Additionally, I might create a similar piece that captures that nostalgic feel but features classic black and white imagery from a film but painted in vivid color as if it came straight out of The Wizard of Oz. I hope that makes sense.)
