How can I learn Shines/Combo faster?
Ever wonder why some dancers pick things up SO FAST in class? What Iโ€™ve noticed is that many dancers are missing a huge piece of the learning process. Iโ€™ve taught hundreds of dancers how to learn faster and more effectively in class โ€” from students who struggle with a single 8-count to dancers who can learn any Shines & choreography almost instantly that even shocked me๐Ÿคฏ Does this sound like your experience? Or do you have any tips that have helped you learn faster? Drop them below ๐Ÿ‘‡ and Iโ€™ll share my methodology in a blog inside the โ€œTo Answer Your Questionsโ€ฆโ€ course!

@Peiwei Cobo one way that I learn choreo at a faster rate than most people is that I convince myself that the routine is not that complicated. Itโ€™s very simple and within a few practice sets I can get it. The second part comes down to technical aspects. I immediately try to identify what I know currently and commit them to our memory so I spend less processing power doing so for the rest of the routine. The other part of it is I immediately practice whatever I see as soon as the teacher does it so I sneak in reps while everybody else is still watching. So I only grab what I can easily obtain and save the more difficult part for the middle or the end of the class. The last part is, I just tell myself to have fun. Reminding yourself that this is an enjoyable experience, raises your ability to pick up things quickly and reinforce the idea that perfection is not required.
