It was my nieces birthday. She asked for a pink and gold cake, so this is what I came up with.

Black buttercream needs at least 24 hours (in my experience) to develop into a very dark shade of black. I had to resist from adding extra colouring as I couldn’t budge from my buttercream looking a dirty grey colour but thankfully my patience paid off and I’m pleased with the result ☺️ x

I’m glad this weather is cooler but not looking forward to next week - temperatures are back up and a 2 tier cakes needs making 🙈 But here’s one I made last night, along with 30 cupcakes. I think I’ve made at least 3 of Ava’s birthday cakes now ❤️
