✨ Feeling Misaligned? Read This.
Greetings Heroes, This morning, during my daily meditation (I use the Calm app — highly recommend), I was reminded of a Japanese concept that always stops me in my tracks: Ikigai. In simple terms, Ikigai means “reason for being.”It’s the intersection of four things: 1. What you love 2. What you're good at 3. What the world needs 4. What you can be paid for When those four align, you unlock something powerful — a sense of deep purpose, direction, and joy. For example: - A chef who uses their creativity to bring people together through food. - A coach who helps others transform because they’ve been through it themselves. - A teacher who lights up watching someone finally “get it.” But here’s the thing… It’s so easy to spend our lives chasing things out of obligation. Doing what others expect. Prioritizing survival over meaning. Burning time, energy, and life force on things that feel… misaligned. This is something I’ve personally struggled with for years. There were seasons where I was doing “well” by society’s standards, but I was disconnected from my why. Empty wins. Chronic burnout. Internal friction I couldn’t explain. Only in the last few years have I started to feel like I’m truly stepping into my Ikigai, by helping others learn emerging technologies and reconnect with their own clarity and purpose. It’s changed everything for me. - My mental health - My motivation - My joy - My relationships - Even how I show up for myself And I want that for you, too. ⚔️ Alignment Exercise (Drop Your Comment Below) What do you believe your Ikigai is? And how will you embody it this coming week? If you’re not sure yet, that’s totally okay. You're not broken or behind. A great place to start is with the Character Builder exercise inside our QuestOS training series. It’s designed to help you reconnect with your values, vision, and deeper purpose.

I love this! But I always felt anxious and pressured about finding "my life's purpose" or my "why" starting as far back as college when having to pick a major (why did I have to decide the rest of my life at 18 years old?). To alleviate that pressure (plus reading a lot of philosophy, science fiction, and eastern religious texts) to finding/discovering a purpose, I came to a conclusion that has been really freeing. I have no life purpose. Life is just meant to be lived. Do the things that feel good in the season of life that you are in. The things that felt good and aligned in my 20s, wouldn't suit me now in my 40s. And the things that feel good and aligned now might feel different a decade from now. I have goals, but those change all the time. But having a big overarching life purpose feels too constricting for me.

@Teri Harris This really resonates, especially about "why's" that are given to us by others. Expectations placed on us either explicitly ("Everyone in our family becomes a doctor") or implicitly ("Your sister just got promoted at work again."); our subconscious programming (limiting beliefs); or societal norms/systemic injustices ("I can't be who I'm suppose to be because it's not safe"). These are gargantuan hurdles to overcome for most people because most people don't realize that those ruins (using your metaphor) don't have to be rebuilt the same way over and over. Those of us here have heard the whispers to head somewhere new, but many don't. And hopefully, through our building something new, can help others see that they can build something new too.
QuestOS Prompt
I was totally overwhelmed by the QuestOS. Ok, one bite at a time. Character Builder, Whoa...More overwhelm. Ok, One bite. Vision, here we go... 3-Years?? Ideal Life?? I've had my head down, stuck in the day-to-day grind just trying to survive, that I can't even grasp a string that could lead me to a thought of what an ideal day would look like. But since this is AI Quest, I turned to ChatGPT. Not to give me the answers, but to ask me other questions based on the QuestOS questions that could give me a spark and bring me to the headspace to visualize who I want to become. To bring my awareness out of survival mode and into creative thinking and imagining possibilities. Here are the 2 prompts that I used. It's a link to a Google Doc to make a copy so that you can edit it however you like to get the most out of it.

We are beginners together! I'm also in the process of trying something different, instead of the same old things that have kept me in the same places. Let's work hard and see how far we can go. 🚀
Bookkeeper looking to expand my knowledge
Hi, I'm Emily! I'm a bookkeeper who is looking to bring AI into my business. I have started using AI in my marketing. But would like to expand out to automate processes within my business. I would even like to offer those services to my clients within higher ticket service packages.
