Insulin Resistance: What Is It?
Have you ever wondered what insulin resistance actually means? Simply put, insulin is a hormone that helps move glucose (sugar) from your blood into your cells to be used for energy. Insulin resistance happens when your cells don’t respond to insulin as well as they should. Your body may then need to produce more insulin to keep blood sugar levels in range. Over time, insulin resistance can increase the risk of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. The good news? Lifestyle habits such as regular physical activity, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and eating a balanced diet can all play an important role in metabolic health. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about understanding what’s happening inside your body and making better choices one day at a time. 💡 Knowledge gives you power. Take care of the body you’ve been given. Have you ever had your blood sugar or A1C checked?

I have and so far I'm good, but I don't have the healthiest eating habit. 😬
