Elza progress
Split for the sleeves - so satisfying! It’s so lovely to see the pattern developing with the Ombré yarn and I’m eagerly knitting to watch the progress 🥰

@Liene Kalniņa neither can I 🤣, currently on hold as working on a test knit, but I think I will not be able to resist knitting a bit more this weekend.
Gauge
So I don’t think I have a particularly tight or loose tension and usually get gauge or within 1-2 stitches; so I know how to calculate and knit an alternative size if needed, BUT I have tried a variety of needle sizes and even yarn but I don’t come anywhere close to the right gauge for the Ailis sweater: 26st x 34 rows with 4-ply yarn This is my gauge: 4-ply 3mm: 32st x 38r 3.5mm: 31st x 36r 4mm: 30st x 32 r Sport 3mm: 30st x 36r 3.5mm 28st x 32r 4 mm: 26st x 28r See photos of my test swatches washed and blocked. I also measured a colourwork sweater worked in the round with 4-ply yarn and stitch gauge is the same; although row gauge a bit different. What do I do?

@Coranne Hodgkinson thank you for taking the time to respond. I do tend to agree with you that no matter how I swatch; the actual working gauge may be different. I think I will just go with what I like best and just adjust accordingly! I’ll probably use a 3.5mm needle as I think that looks best and has a nice even tension. I just don’t really understand how she gets 26 st x 34 rows with fingering weight yarn on 2.75mm needles!!

@Zanete Hussain no worries and thank you for taking the time to respond. Yes I do keep floats loose and stretch stitches during knitting, but maybe less so for some reason when knitting a gauge swatch. I have tried different methods and sizes etc. I have just decided to adapt and actually the gauge on the actual project is a bit different from the test swatch, but it will all work out fine 😃
Starting ZKAL
So excited to be joining in by knitting the Elza sweater.

Clue 5+
I have to pause for a while as I need to finish knitting a gift first, but very happy with this sweater so far and really enjoying the process.

Rediscovered knitting in 2020 and now cannot be without the next project. Love colourwork and top down construction. HATE sewing in ends.
