Seven characteristics of a Mystic, according to Richard Burke (1837-1902)
Mystic, Richard Burke, was a superintendent of two Canadian asylums for the insane. He published a well-known book, the Comic Consciousness. He describes cosmic consciousness as “a transpersonal awareness of the universal mind and Oneness with it.” He points out these seven characteristics of Mystic character: *A Mystic has an intuitive, non-intellectual and inevitable understanding of the divine - They have an elevated moral awareness and inability to hurt others, (including animals) - They enjoy freedom from a sense of guilt, sin, and fear - They have an awareness and acceptance of immortality - They feel freedom from death - They can identify a peak experience or a particular moment/s of transformation in their lives - They have experienced intellectual illumination or revelation” Do you relate to any of these experiences?

I relate to a lot of that
To quote the Mystics
Julian of Norwich said: “For the fullness of joy is to behold God in everything.” This reflects the essence of mysticism—seeing the Divine not as distant, but as present in all things, accessible through deep inward experience. What is your experience in "beholding God (Spirit) in everything"?

When I hear it said that “we are all one” I think that applies to everything . Reminds me of animism (what little I know of it) and I remember thinking there was a sort of consciousness to everything.
