Looking to a connect with high agency and entrepreneurial engineers
happy to kick things off in the channel! great to meet you all - What’s your superpower? my experience and skill set is in growth and entrepreneurship. to keep it short, there are probably three things have helped me achieve what I've done so far: agency, continuous learning, passion - What kind of partner are you looking for? looking for an engineer (either to be a founding engineer or someone talented and passionate who can help us move the needle) to build apps for iOS, android & web (next iteration of the build is android & web). have to be very comfortable with AI & LLMs as this plays a significant role in the product & our roadmap in addition, someone who is interested in building in the ai agent & automation space for my company Ghost Team (more on that below) I am looking for someone who matches with factors important to me of hard work, ambition, trustful, empathetic and likes to have fun. Someone who gives 110% to their work and is willing to put in what it takes to really scale a company - What are you working on? Clippit is an ai-powered consumer app that lets you turn any material into a podcast clip. we’re growing fast with +36,000 downloads, +5 million organic views & done +24k in revenue, achieved in 5 months. to help us continue scaling we're looking for an engineer who can work with us part time on development additionally, my main gig is Ghost Team which is an AI Agent & Automation company helping business build growth systems (mainly sales and marketing). this is separate from consumer apps but perhaps someone is interested in this space. we are looking for a founding engineer feel free to reach out if anything sparked your interest! elliot@ghostteam.ai a bit more on me here: https://elliotgarreffa.me/ & https://x.com/elliot_garreffa

@Darius Mora thank you brother!

How I became the Chief Marketing Officer: I want to share a story with you—because it changed my life. A few years ago, I was broke and driving Uber to survive. I had just come back to Europe from San Francisco, where I’d raised money for a startup that flopped. I was trying to figure out what was next. One day, while browsing the App Store (as one does when procrastinating life), I stumbled across an app called Reflectly. It was beautiful. Genuinely well-designed, clever idea… but I could tell it wasn’t reaching its full potential. At the time, I had already launched a few of my own (failed) app projects, so I had learned a few things the hard way. I decided to write them an email. No pitch. No ask. Just love: “Hey, I love your app. Here are a few ideas that might help you grow...” Minutes later, I got a reply from the CEO. Turns out—they were based a few blocks away from me in Copenhagen. We jumped on a call. Talked for hours. By the end of that conversation, he offered me a job. First employee. Head of Growth. Generous equity. I want to emphasise, at this point my “experience” was a lot of failed apps that never made any money. A few weeks later, we turned on monetization. Reflectly exploded. We hit 10 million users, acquired 10 companies, and I became Chief Marketing Officer. A few years later, I sold my shares, moved to Costa Rica, became a barefoot jungle hippie… then got bored, came back to Europe, and lost all the money again in my next startup (but that’s a story for another time ). Why am I sharing this? Because I want to help you create your story: Fact 1: It’s ridiculously hard to hire the right people in the app world. Good growth marketers, engineers, media buyers, designers—they’re unicorns. Fact 2: It’s just as hard to find a co-founder. Whether you need someone technical, someone to handle growth, or someone to make things beautiful—finding the right person to build with feels like dating during a zombie apocalypse. So… to try to make this a little easier, I’ve created a new Discussion tab: Hiring / Co-Founder Search.

love this story mate and great idea to create a space to help finding a co-founder in this community. I've built multiple ventures and found this part of the most challenging as like you said, the best people are unicorns my main lesson though has been to (even when I'm not hiring or looking for a co-founder) to always connect with interesting people, jump on calls, get to know each other you never know when you may meet someone you'll connect with and want to build ventures together excited to jump into the channel
