@Ed Biernat I asked chatgpt for a better explanation. I do have a disclaimer and I do not collect any patient information. From my understanding, as long as we are not collecting and storing patient information, HIPPA doesn't apply to us. We are consumer vs medical. We are not covered entities. Some is repeated in the explanation. This is what chat said: I include a clear disclaimer that this app does not provide medical advice and that I am not a medical provider or clinic. The app is intended as a general consumer tool and is not designed to diagnose, treat, or manage medical care. Under HIPAA, the law primarily applies to covered entities such as healthcare providers, health plans, and healthcare clearinghouses, as well as business associates that handle protected health information on their behalf. Because I am not acting in any of these roles and do not provide services for medical providers, HIPAA does not apply to this app in the same way it does to doctors or clinics.
