I’m heading to Chile soon. Every time I travel, I’m reminded of something important: Dance connects us beyond cities. Beyond countries. Beyond accents. Different places.Same rhythm. What we’re building here isn’t just technique. it’s a community that moves together — even if we’re miles apart 🌎 And that’s powerful. So now I’m curious… Where are you dancing from right now? Drop your city or country below 👇Let’s see how far this community really reaches.

A tool for the salsa /mambo dancer
I previously wrote how it is sometimes difficult for new mambo dancers to hear and dance to the beat of the music. There is an app I use in my teaching to help my students dance on the beat and in time with the music. It's called the Salsa Beat Machine/ Salsa Rhythm Machine which can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store. The app can isolate and play each salsa instrument and play each one at a different bpm ( beats pper minute ) . It even has an instructor voice that can call out the timing of the music and set the clave 3/2 or 2/3 . It doesn't matter if you dance ON1 or ON2 .Get this app. It can really help your mambo dancing .Keep on dancing !

How did you start dancing? 👀
Most people think they started because they “liked music.” That’s not true. You started because something inside you wanted more: - More confidence - More movement - More connection - More expression For some of you, it was a party where you felt uncomfortable. For others, it was a video that inspired you.Maybe it was boredom.Maybe it was curiosity. But here’s the real question: 👉 Why did you REALLY decide to start? Take a second and think about it. Was it: - To feel less shy? - To challenge yourself? - To be more social? - To finally try something you kept postponing? Drop your answer below. Understanding why you started is important — because that’s what will keep you going when motivation drops. Remember:You didn’t join just to learn steps. You joined to become someone who dances. Let’s hear your story 👇

@Brenda Lola Rodriguez Brenda, this is beautiful 👏 You didn’t just start to dance. You started to understand. To understand your body. To understand music . To understand connection. That shift changes everything. When someone moves from “I like dancing” to “I want awareness, control, history, discipline”… that’s when dance becomes a practice, not just a hobby 🎶 I love that you mentioned frustration too.Because that’s where most people stop. But growth lives there 🔥 The deeper you go into body awareness and musicality, the more dance stops being something you do… and becomes something you are. Keep going. That level of curiosity is what builds real mastery 💪

No seguro.Solo constante. La acción construye confianza 🔥 Sigue bailando. Así es como la voz pierde fuerza.
Today our fist class was Great 🔥😍

🎥 Share your practice videos
I just uploaded a class video with music 🎶I want to invite everyone to start uploading your own practice videos and to keep watching the classes. This is one of the best ways to: - get real feedback - ask questions about what you’re practicing - improve faster and with more clarity You don’t need to be perfect. This space is for learning, practicing, and getting better together. If you watch a class and have questions, post them here.If you practice, share it. That’s how real progress happens 👊
