Congrats Shannon! It’s all about the quality. In a podcast world of lots of people with lots of empty words you keep bringing it!
From Vault to Vision: New Podcast Episode
Ever felt like you’re sitting on a mountain of valuable content (tutorials, workshops, PDFs, maybe even entire slide decks), but you have no idea how to turn it into a structured, sellable course? You’re not alone. In this episode of The Art of Online Course Creation, Shannon sits down with Alexis Galloway, founder of So Sweet Academy and a creative entrepreneur who went from stitching for fun to building a full-fledged online business teaching machine embroidery to beginners. But Alexis’s journey wasn’t a straight line. She started, like many creators do, by sharing her passion and answering questions one by one… until she found herself repeating the same explanations over and over. That’s when she realized there had to be a better way - a way to multiply her impact, streamline her teaching, and scale her business beyond one-to-one conversations. Enter: online courses. But as Alexis discovered, creating a course isn’t just about recording tutorials and uploading them to a platform. Her first course (though successful on the surface) lacked the structure, intentionality, and learning journey that students truly needed. The result was confusion, repeated questions, and missed transformation. In this honest and inspiring conversation, Alexis opens up about: - The mindset shift from hobbyist to business owner and the pivotal moments that sparked her evolution. - Why her first course made her cringe and how refining the structure changed everything. - The biggest mistake most creators make with existing content (and how to fix it). - How adding coaching and real-time support took her course from “nice to have” to life-changing. - The essential (and often overlooked) parts of course creation that separate scattered content from true transformation. - If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your own ideas, or if you’re wondering how to turn your expertise into something that actually gets results, this episode is packed with insight, honesty, and actionable wisdom.

Strategically Plan Your Skool Classroom Replay Expires SUNDAY
The recording has now expired. You can now find it in my other group, The Build Lab. A lot of the time at the end was questions and discussion, so don't be scared off by the timestamp. The workshop is only about an hour long! 😉 If you were at the session, please leave a comment with something you tookaway from the workshop or let others know what you thought. 😊 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛). Register for the course before midnight (EDT) on Sunday and qualify for an exclusive one-hour strategy call with me to get your classroom planned out in a way that will set your whole group up for success. Monetary value = $150, time=saving value = priceless! 😉 Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I attended the session and it was great. A big takeaway for me was an understanding that throwing massive amounts of content on the wall to see what sticks is not a strategy for creating a community. Thoughtfully, intentionally posting content designed to move my people in the direction I want them to go is what makes sense. What I was missing before Shannon was a framework for doing that.
Are you coming tomorrow (Friday)???
I'm cooking up something juicy for you, and you're going to want to be there! Now What? A Strategist Workshop for Building A Skool Group That Stands Out and Delivers - How to design your classroom so that it actually gets people results and grows your business! There's been a lot of talk in the Skoolers community about what to put (or not put) in your classroom, and it's not all good advice. Too many people are making rash decisions based on their own bad experiences with online courses without really knowing what goes into making high-quality classroom content that will move the needle for your members and help you to stand out from everyone else who is similar to you. On Friday, inside this group, I will be hosting a free 90-minute masterclass on how to strategically plan your Skool classroom so that you can showcase your expertise, stand out, and get real results for your members. Check the calendar for the time in your time zone. And yes, it will be recorded! (I've set up Zoom to auto-record, so no forgetting this time!!! 🤦‍♀️) I hope to see you there!

I was really hoping to be able to post today that we had made it into the 100s in Discovery because we've been soooooo close, but alas, it was not to be! However, we've made some major strides, and your content is being seen by more and more people every day. In addition, so many of you have added numerous members to your Skool groups, and the momentum is rising! I'm excited for you all. Once again, your referrals are greatly appreciated, don't stop. The tide is rising, and it is lifting all our boats! 🛶 Here are the metrics for the past 7 days: Members: 143 Rank in Discovery: #205 (+79) Active Members (last 30 days): 98% Highest Activity Day: 873 activities Lowest Activity Day: 225 activities Traffic (last 7 days): 205 About page visits (+64) Sign Ups (last 7 days): 35 (+7) Conversion Rate: 17.07% (-2.79%) The Context: 1. Obviously, I'm super pumped about the ranking in Discovery. This is due to the amount of engagement in the group, so please keep posting, commenting, and liking each others' posts. The better our visibility, the better it is for everyone. My goal is to get to the top 100 by the end of October! 2. Mona contacted Skool and asked about the Active Member metric (thanks @Mona Weathers ) and they told her is was the members' activity on the platform, not in the group, so I've decided to completely ignore this metric. I guess it would be useful if you were struggling to get engagement in your group because you would know whether or not you are talking to people who are even engaged on the platform, but if it's not a reflection of the engagement in this group, I'm not really worried about it. Curious to hear your thoughts, though... 3. Our highest activity day is the highest of all time, so that's amazing! 👏 4. We have had more About page visits and more signups than last week, but the conversion rate is lower. Again, I'm not too worried about the conversion rate because this is a public group, and the goal is to get eyes on the page, not necessarily conversions...
