@Pink Owl Thank you for the info! I'm sure our PA members will love it. We'll keep this in our records so if we ever get PA viewers or members we know how to help them out.
Hello! My name is Sherri and I live in Michigan.
I’ll be turning 62yrs in August ‘26, and am divorced. I meet all the qualifications for an ex-spouse. I was laid off from my job in April, after being acquired in Jan ‘26. A friend asked me if I considered retiring? I had no idea I could retire at 62! Ideally, I’d like to wait until 67, to receive max benefits, but if I am unable to secure a job before UI runs out, I may not have a choice. My #1 worry is making the wrong decision on when to retire. My ‘WIN’ would be having all the knowledge I need to make a confident decision on when to take my benefits. Thank you!

We’re glad you’re here. This community exists for one reason: To help you feel calmer and more confident about Social Security, Medicare, and other benefits, so you don’t make costly mistakes. You are not alone anymore. When a confusing letter shows up or a deadline is coming, this is your safe place to ask for help. 1️⃣ Step 1: Introduce yourself Go to the Community tab and click “Write something…” Title it: “Hi, I’m [Your First Name] from [Your State]” In your post, please share (whatever you’re comfortable with): 1. First name and state 2. Age range (50s, 60s, 70s, 80+) 3. Your Current Situation? 4. Your #1 worry about your benefits right now 5. One “win” you’d love to get from this group (example: “Have a clear plan for when to claim Social Security.”) After you post your intro, please comment on at least 1 other person’s post to say hello. We want this to feel like a friendly room, not an empty hall. 2️⃣ Step 2: Watch your “Start Here” class Go to the Classroom tab and open the lesson called “Start Here – Your First Steps”. In that short video I’ll show you: - Where to find your roadmap and checklists - Where to bring letters and questions - How to get the most from the weekly calls 3️⃣ Step 3: Know how to get help When you’re stuck or scared by a letter: - Post in Questions & Help with a clear title (example: “Got a Social Security overpayment letter – what now?”). - You can blur or cross out any private info before posting pictures. We keep this space kind, calm, and non-political. No yelling, no scare stories, no sales pitches. You’ve taken a brave first step by joining. Now do the second step: make your introduction post so we can start helping you.
