Welcome New Members!
We've got some new members to the community and I'd be great if you'd all introduce yourselves. Let us know what brought you to Master The Workflow and tell us how you came to editing in general. Also, for those who've been around for a while, let's hear what the big challenges you're facing? Is there anything in the course you're finding particularly difficult to grasp? Let's get a conversation going. --Larry

Hello world! An editor by trade, I've joined the Master the Workflow program & community for 2 reasons: I've recognized that I've much room for growth on the tech end of post, and learning to step astutely & competently into an Assistant Editor's shoes would aid that immensely; and 2, my current post department has a very niche workflow, far distant from that of *regular* tv & film post-departments. This program has been an incredible aid in plunging me feet first in the deep ocean of the wider accepted post pipeline; gaining these skills is invaluable both for my present and future career goals.

@Anthony Steinhart Seems like it's been forever since Elite! Doin' fine here–– how's with you?
Welcome to Our New Platform
Hey everyone, We’re excited to share that we’re transitioning the Master The Workflow community to a new platform — Skool. For those unfamiliar, Skool is a growing hub of online communities covering just about every subject under the sun — from filmmaking and editing to productivity, coding, and more. Some groups are free, others are paid, and all of them are designed to bring people together around a shared passion. Our Feature Film Assistant Editor community will remain a paid platform, just like always. That means only paid students will have access to the course materials — nothing changes there. But this new space will allow us to build something more connected and collaborative. Think of this as your clubhouse. You can start new conversations, ask questions, share wins (and challenges), or just hang out with others walking the same path. And while our private Facebook group is still live and active — and will stay that way for now — we’re hoping this Skool community becomes a real gathering place where we can all interact more deeply and get to know each other better. We’d love to kick things off by getting to know YOU: 🎥 What are you currently working on? 🖥️ Where do you work from — on set, in post, at home? 📸 Show us your workstation (we're nerds for gear setups). 💬 Or just say hi and tell us what drew you to this career path. This is your space to connect, share, learn, and grow — not just as assistant editors or editors, but as filmmakers, creatives, and human beings. ⚠️ A quick note: Right now, this is not a private group. That means others can view the community, but only those who’ve purchased our courses or products (like you!) will have full access. So rest assured, you're still in a cohort of serious, committed learners. We’re looking forward to seeing how this evolves — and more importantly, seeing all of YOU here. Let’s make this a place where the next generation of editors find their people. Best, Larry & Richard Master The Workflow

Hello World! Ok— so about me. My daughter just finished freshman year of high school, two cats, lovely wife. I can roll out of bed, skip down the road and be on Sesame Street. As Senior Editor of Sesame Street we work a hybrid schedule of 3@home, 2@the office. We just finished principal production of Season 56 and are busily mastering & archiving the elements of Season 55 while editing first cuts through director & producer review of the S56 Stories. I’ve been in the seat about ten years (Premiere shop) and yearn to crack rusty Avid knuckles, deeply delve into the standard functioning film & broadcast workflow that wildly differs from our own, and meet incredible Editors & Assistant Editors, fellow sailors on these insatiably choppy present seas. And here’s Spaceship Home.
