An introduction is in order!
Hi, My name is Echo (yeah, its my real name) and i run The Oak Anchor Collective. This business has undergone a number of rebrandings, moves, and refreshes as my life has evolved around it. I am first and foremost a mom, and my business has evolved around their needs. Now they are 11 and 13, but this business started when I was put on bedrest during my first pregnancy. It started with owl hats, and baby blankets, and has grown from there. In the early 2020s (during covid) I started developing pain and issues surrounding Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrom and POTs. I had to pivot my part time work and focus more into my handcrafted business. And make some form of income despite the closures. Since then, I've moved several times, ended at hundreds of events, sold online through social media, and on live auctions. But that's the side of things the public sees, I want to share the side that's behind the table and behind the camera. Market prep, organizing my space (still working on this), managing energy and attention between the business, the kids and the illness, and project management. Many of these topics can be used for other business types, hobby businesses, and more. If you've made it this far, tell em about your business, your pets, and your favorite non-traditional snack.
