🩺 Community Clinic 2.0. Day 3. Recap
day 3 was about traffic. like cars cannot run without the gasoline, your community will not survive without the new members. but, there is more than one way to skin a cat. sorry, cat lovers 🐈‍⬛ @Alexa Leitner - the founder of GERMANstudio.ling.academy just hit 1,700 members - huge congrats 🎉 no following. no ads. no YouTube. mostly one conversation at a time, on Reddit (who would have thought?) @Des Dreckett got his first members by commenting in other communities on Skool. every single day, on TURBO MODE, so much so, that he got banned ❌ by the end of the day we all agreed on the part nobody wants to hear: - traffic isn't a hack. it's people talking to people. - it's a consistent action. every. sing. day. - it costs you money (ads) and / or time (conversations). pick one, but you're paying either way. huge thanks to @Des Dreckett for carrying the roundtable solo. our second expert - @Chris Hanlon could not make it, but prepared a really cool present for us. thanks, Chris! 🎥 NOW THE RECAP all recordings are in the Classroom (available to everyone till 1 October, only to Premium & VIP after that) with summaries and time codes: - case study with Alexa - roundtable with Des and video recording from Chris - hot seats recording ♨️ THE HOT SEATS the last round, and another round of applause for the brave ones: @Shelby Kretz @Vladimir Belokapov @Ettjen Jansingh @Alexa Leitner @Nikesh Amit you can find links to their communities in the class. And that's the clinic done. 3 days, 3 case studies, 3 roundtables, 3 rounds of hot seats. i'm tired and very happy. 🏆 THE PRIZES & WHAT'S NEXT

@Ettjen Jansingh There's such a lot of health related content there. It might also work well for you. But of course it's a sh*load of work.
I spread myself too thin and got punched in the gut
i am not complaining. totally understand the person. yet, it hurts. the situation: i registered to participate in the summit. did not submit, what i was suppose to submit by the deadline. the complication is the host agreed to be a speaker at my event. this morning, i got a message: - i am now removed from the summit (fair) - i am also removed from the host's community (okay) - she has removed herself from speaking at my event (ouch!) again, i understand, why i was removed from the summit. but the last two... logically, i understand. but emotionally, fucking hard. oh, well. i am not looking for emotional support (maybe just a little). i think everyone has the right to do what they want to do. and face the consequences. me - i would not do it like that. but, business is business, nothing personal. my lesson learnt, be extra careful with what i agree to do for other people - speaking, participation, help. it's my problem - i overestimate my capacity, grossly. so, i am going to play "collect 100 No's game". which means, every external opportunity, invite i get, i am gonna say NO or I NEED TO THINK, before i say yes. anyone else struggle with overcommitment?

@Lidia Axe We're driven, passionate about what we do, always on the go and getting things done, right? And there are so many cool new opportunities popping up all the time... Being on that boat is mostly a good thing. It's exciting, an adventure, and sitting idle would bore us to tears. Just make sure you don't run out of fuel out at sea. Especially if you've also got a pretty demanding personal life. Take good care of yourself, Lidia! 🧡

Skool DM Automation: Great in Theory, Terrible in Practice
i will never use automated DM sequences on Skool. here's a real example of why. lots of Skool tools now offer DM sequences. and the pitch makes sense. - it saves time. - keeps a line open with every member. - keeps your community top of mind. great in theory. terrible in execution. at least in everything i've seen. this morning i got a DM from someone who's a member of my community. i'm also a member of theirs. two days ago we chatted about them being in my community and booking a call. and then, i receive a message this morning. it was a friendly. something along the lines of: glad you're in the community, just popping in to say hi. before anyone reads this as a callout. it isn't. the person is great. the message, on its own, is great. BUT we talked two days ago. so a "just popping in to say hi" makes no sense. and the moment i read it, i suspected it was automated. the next message sounded scripted too. by then it didn't matter what it said. that's what Skool DM automation costs you. a good message, sent at the wrong moment, to someone who already in communication with you. WHAT TO DO INSTEAD i understand, sending DMs is a lot of work/time/effort. hence, do this instead: - have a library of DM templates for different situations. new member, went quiet, booked a call, no-show. - have a system - easy way - to track where each person is in their journey in your community. so you know which template fits before you hit send. - add personality. a voice note instead of text. a short video. short on time? even a gif beats a paragraph that reads like a bot. these are my fav gifs to follow up with ppl i talked before. DO NOT STEAL THEM ☢️ !!!! templates save the time. tracking keeps the context. the personal bit is you. ➡️ so what's your take on auto DMs, from both ends - sending and receiving them ?

🚀 Grow
I plan to grow to 1k in August. Do you want to know WHY & HOW?
i am gonna use a dirty marketing tactic. i know, i know... UPDATE: we are above 100 comment. here is the event. check your eligibility. it is very easy to get there. trust me. see you there if i get 100 comments under this post 🤦🏻‍♀️, i will do a live/recording available to everyone at lvl 3+ ONLY 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ - the Hackers (check here) and explain the how and the why and answer all your questions. only 3 things to do: - comment below anything, even if you hate it - tell me - check your current level here and if you are not lvl 3, then - get there - it is simple - post, comment, watch a calendar 🤭... do the thing that you are supposed to do as a good community member... it is controversial (in my playbook) yet, i am doing it. cause nothing off limits if it helps my members to get results. cause that's the ultimate goal.
