The No-BS Guide to Crushing ID Clinics
Preparation doesn’t lie. Coaches can tell when you’ve done the work. ✅ Know the program. Understand their style, values, and expectations. ✅ Reach out beforehand. Personal, genuine emails > cookie-cutter spam. ✅ Show up fit, sharp, and ready. Your fitness speaks louder than words. Your Resumé Matters - Played for a top program? Won big? That’s your calling card. - 95% of D1 Female commits come from ECNL or GA leagues. Male it's MLS Next or ECNL Not in one? The road’s tougher, but not impossible. - Stand Out on the Field - Showcase your strengths: speed, vision, leadership. - Be vocal—lift your teammates, don’t tear them down. - Mistakes happen. Coaches care more about how you recover. Off the Field Counts Too - Respect everyone—staff, players, counselors. - Positive energy is contagious. Love the game, and it shows. Follow Up - After camp, send a thoughtful email. Reference a play or convo. Make it personal. Be prepared. Be relentless. Make it count. 💪

Oh I like this post! The truth of being genuine, researching and knowing the school, and being authentic while being polite and kind. The positive personality of a player can go miles in having a coach be understanding, reciprocate in how they speak with you as well, and overall create a different "feel" about you. A player doesn't always have to be the best technically or tactically but 100% effort, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be kind to the staff, team, and to themselves goes a long way.
Winter Training as an Athlete
The winter off-season is where college roster spots are earned ❄️⚽️, but only if you are training correctly. Too many players spend these months on machines designed for aesthetics rather than athletic performance. It can be enticing to chase those abs or bigger quads, but I would argue that doesn't get you where you want to go 🤔. To prepare for the spring, prioritize strength training that offers a high return on investment for the pitch 📈: • 🔄 Swap the Leg Extension for Squats and Deadlifts to build power that translates directly to the game. • 🔄 Swap the Leg Press for Bulgarian Split Squats to produce force one leg at a time, mimicking the demands of running, shooting, and cutting. HUGE MASTER TIP • Decide on your reps guided by your weak leg. If your left isn't as strong, start the sets with that leg. If you can do 8 with the left and 12 with the right, don't force the left into 12. Instead, bring the right to 8 until they are balanced and equal. Remember, your goal is to be an explosive athlete on the field, not just the strongest person in the gym. Train for the game, not the mirror 🏆🪞. Best of luck, and let me know your thoughts! 👋

Do You Have a Game Plan?
You need a plan.... How many times have you heard the "gurus" say you don’t need help—and maybe you don’t. But it’s just like getting fit or losing weight: we all know the steps, but creating a plan and finding the motivation, discipline, and drive to show up and follow through every single day? That’s the real challenge. Knowing the path is one thing; staying on it is another. Can you do this on your own? Of course, you can... but are you? Success in the recruiting process starts with a clear, actionable plan. Here’s how to take charge of your journey: Step 1: Assess Your Goals and Fit Start by understanding where you stand and where you want to go. What level is realistic for you? Be honest about your talent and potential. Which schools are the right fit? Consider academics, athletics, and culture. This step is all about narrowing your focus to programs that align with your goals. Step 2: Boost Your Exposure Once you’ve identified your target schools, it’s time to get noticed. Social Media Presence: Post consistently to showcase your journey. Share training sessions, game highlights, and achievements. Why? Visibility is everything. More posts = more exposure = more attention from college coaches. Step 3: Organize and Commit to Reaching Out Now that you’ve built a presence, it’s time to connect with coaches. How to Stand Out: Send personalized emails to coaches at your target schools. Include a quality highlight video that showcases your game. Make it easy for coaches to see your potential and why you’re a great fit for their program. Step 4: Build Relationships with Coaches Interest is just the beginning—relationships are what matter. What to Do: Follow up consistently. Ask thoughtful questions about their program. Get on calls or Zoom meetings to show genuine interest. Building trust and rapport with coaches can make all the difference. Step 5: Keep Grinding! The recruiting process doesn’t stop—it’s about staying consistent and committed.
