There's been so many things I've been delighted by and proud of my dogs for over the years and one of those was how amazing my crew were at raising litters of kittens. Slipstream, along with my male cat named Brer-cat, were incredibly good Uncles to the tiny felines, and Cricket and Iota were great friends for them. They cleaned them, played with them, allowed themselves to be the source of body heat for kitten snuggles and snoozes, and generally provided security and social learning. Have any of your dogs helped to raise other species? Another of my dogs, Jock was a great Uncle to the twin lambs born to my ewe Mama Chook. He was so gently attentive to them, and quietly excited to be in their company.

14yo Koko the greyhound enjoying the sunshine, a snack of sheep poo pellets (that's what she's snuffling at in the grass), and a short romp with boarder Taro. Simple pleasures make for a good life for an old girl. 🙂
