Room treatment ?
I want someone to clarify if room treatment is as important when starting out? I’ve gotten a strong hold on basics of eq, compression, limiting etc and as my ear is improving I’m noticing my room indeed has a limiting factor on what I’m looking for. I feel maybe this has been not allowing me to finish or complete projects. Is there anyone on here who relates or can help me out with this?

@General Midi you’re very right about over priced gear btw and I have the tendency to rabbit hole alittle bit. I appreciate your help
The Light
Hey everyone, I have a new track out on Friday with a bit of a summer vibe. Thought I’d put it out there before it really is the end of summer!

I like your song. Also eternal self is really cool what inspired you to go with that?
How do you deal with sitting down all day?
8 hours to work on a desk, to arrive home and start making music on a desk. What are your workarounds to this problem?

I’d go for a walk, run, workout before setting your attention and focus on creating music at your desk
Working with what you have - Hardware Restrictions
Has anyone ever felt like their creative process is being held back by their equipment and tools? Do the latest gadgets, synths, and controllers actually make you a better artist, or do they just speed up your workflow? After adding new software synths like Diva, my projects have become more MIDI-based and less loop-driven, with more channels involved. Unfortunately, my laptop’s CPU is struggling to keep up, which is making it harder to finish songs. How are you all maximizing the use of your current gear? So far, I've tried the following: - Increasing buffer size - Closing unnecessary background processes in Windows - Setting project files to 44.1kHz at 24-bit - Freezing tracks - Avoiding processor-heavy synths/plugins - Using an external audio interface My studio time is limited, and when I end up spending more time troubleshooting than making music, it really kills my motivation. I plan to build a dedicated music PC eventually, but for now, I’m trying to make the best of what I have. Has anyone else faced similar issues, and how have you dealt with them?

If you’re having issues with your PC, if you have an iPhone use GarageBand for some of your synth sounds and mix them in your daw. Surprisingly, my ear for notes and harmonics got better when I used less. Also speed doesn’t necessarily equate to efficiency. Learn your DAW one step at a time.
The Need For Failure 😩
Is failing an essential part of the path to success? Or is it just a romanticized concept that excuses lack of preparedness? Share your personal experiences with failure and whether you believe it is truly necessary for growth, or if success can be achieved without it.

An individual who hasn’t failed, never learned anything. The one who fails to prepare, again will learn that preparation might be the catalyst for growth.
