Tell us about yourself and name your favorite personality assessment
I'll start -- I am a life and leadership coach, a former corporate learning & development professional, a loving husband, incredibly proud father, and a voracious reader. I've delivered countless corporate team sessions on various personality assessments (e.g. MBTI, StrengthsFinder, DiSC) and have coached individuals on how to leverage their assessment results. It's hard for me to choose a favorite assessment as nearly all of them have strengths. If pressed, I would pick the Myers-Briggs-Type-Indicator (MBTI). My results on the MBTI have served me well more times than I can count! Your turn!

If you count my time as a teaching assistant during grad school, I’ve been teaching college for 39 years, and have been a mid-level administrator for the past 8 years as well. Also a happy husband and a proud dad. Interestingly, although I’ve taken a lot of these tests and even teach a few of them, I’m not big on them. I would offer instead my friends. I have only a few, but the ones I have are rock solid, long term friendships - the “call if you need a kidney” kind. I’d like to think that the best indicator of what kind of person I am is the kind of people my friends are.

@Art Bingham That is probably exactly why I had the reaction that I did - I find many of them to be interesting starting points, but have always found them to be, at best, incomplete or vague, at least when I apply them to myself! But what I do always appreciate is how they give you a language to discuss aspects of ourselves we seldom think about, and permission to discuss it.

What is most relevant here is that Duff and Art became friends when they were 7, and they are still friends to this day. That says a lot!
