@Sharhonda Buie by the look of your chain, I’m sure it’s coming along!
Getting Started
Hey Cosmic Crocheters! I just wanted to give you all some tips on getting started. Some tools you will need: At least 2 stitch markers Yarn of your choice The correct size crochet needle A pair of scissors How to tell what kind of yarn you need: This can vary depending on what your vision is but generally clothing and hats call for medium sized yarn (size 4) while things like blankets or plushies call for thicker yarn (size 5+) How to tell what hook size you need: This is found on the yarn packaging (see attached photo). Stitch markers are highly recommended for all levels not just beginners to help see where to start and end your rows or to make important transitions in your project. I hope this helps!

@Sharhonda Buie so excited! I was thinking blankets first? Thoughts???
First Post!
Hey Family! I want this first to be an invitation for you all to share your current experience level and what your plans are for crocheting (i.e. business, recreational, hobby, etc). I’ll start: I would describe myself as intermediate but quickly approaching advanced. I’m now at a point where I create my own patterns using the basic patterns/stitches. I love crochet as a hobby as well as just to make things for people I love but I’m also always open for commission pieces.

@Tamara Hayes we’re going to start with chains so blankets will be the first thing we create together!

@Tamara Hayes I would start with a soft yarn, the correct size crochet needle, at least 2 stitch markers and a pair of scissors. See my next post for more details!
