In July 1993, I established the first gift basket association. It was named, "Gift Basket Professionals' Roundtable". The buzz word "roundtable" was big at that time. It was a professional association for gift basket designers and professionals in the DMV (referred to as the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area at that time.) It was growing under my leadership and I served as the president during the first two years. My colleagues and my students were members. There we shared design tips and critiques at meeting. It was a place for learning and growing which I plan to replicate here. My gift basket designs received outstanding honors, as well as named for an award winner design in the gift basket design competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. Humm, may be we can create such an honoring event too.

As I develop this group over the next several days, I will start by introducing who I am in a 5-Part Series. This network is all about you, but you may want to know what qualifies me to create such a group. So, here goes... I have lectured at numerous conferences, seminars and workshops over a 35 year entrepreneurial span. I started in August 1991 with the company name "Gift Baskets By Saundra". I became a current faculty member an International gift basket convention called "Jubilee’97 Convention" in that was held in Atlanta, Georgia. I served on the faculty of Prince George's Community College and the Institute of Gift Basket Design in the State of Maryland, USA. Additionally, I was on the faculty of the State of Maryland's Vocational Rehabilitation Program. I also established two international associations for gift basket professionals and creative small business entrepreneurs. Next, I will share more about the professional associations I founded. As you join in this group, go ahead and introduce yourself and share what you hope to gain from this network of gift basket professionals.
