Coaches — I’m doing some offseason reflection and would appreciate any data or insight you’re willing to share. As I’ve been digging into our numbers, I’ve identified a few areas that might be potential weak spots. Regardless of the feedback, we’ll be working to improve them—but I’d really value having some comparison data from others. If you track press offense efficiency or BLOB/SLOB defensive metrics, I’d love to hear what benchmarks you’re seeing. Appreciate any data, thoughts, or direction you’re willing to share.

I'm not sure what a typical TO rate vs pressure should be, but 24% seems high and an area of needed focus (which I think you are addressing). I know really good teams generally keep their TO rate in the low to mid-teens but that is for the game as a whole and not just vs pressure. On the OOB stats, what are you considering a successful defense of an opponent's BLOB/SLOB? Is it a stop on that particular possession or just on the initial action?

It's the age old question of developing a killer mentality in your players versus letting the other team develop a love for the game. This discussion came up between Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson recently and sparked a massive debate online, so we had to give our two cents on the matter here on The Hours. 🏀 Catalyst Training by SAVI Basketball: A player community for basketball education, structured programs, and direct access to world-renowned skill development coach Reid Ouse. https://www.skool.com/catalyst-basket... 🏀 TRY SAVI BASKETBALL FREE FOR 7 DAYS Get access to our full course library, weekly live coaching calls, and a community of coaches working through the same questions. https://www.skool.com/savi-coach Stay SAVI! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rate the show 🎧 Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts 💬 Drop a review (it helps more coaches discover us!)

Great episode - I have been on both sides of 40-point blowouts, but I am squarely with RJ on this one! Call off the dogs and work on something that needs to be worked on.
Thank you Savi!
We had our most successful year in school history this year! Made it all the way to the state championship game where we fell to a team with 6'8 and 6'10 brothers. Waiting on Savi to release the next course on how to stop that with a team of small guys! Thankful for all the knowledge shared on here, definitely wouldn't have had the season we did without Savi!

Hey all, Doug Patenaude, assistant at GNG HS up here in Maine, and we are coming off the school's first, Class A State Championship in 50 years. I'm a big believer in "sharpening the sword" and I'm constantly looking for ways to become a better teacher of this great game. I'm excited to be a member of this community.

Doug Patenaude from Poland ME. I stepped away from coaching HS boys this past season but stayed active in our community running clinics and open gyms. I have a HS girls team that i am coaching this spring in travel ball and looking forward to discussions here.
