How is everyone's week going? Mine has to be going a fair bit better than it has until today. I've had a little more energy and less naps. Now, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum, I find myself awake and not getting enough sleep. Talk about black and white. It is probably the medication that I am on that my body needs to get adjusted to. Time will tell. On the flip side, it's beautiful outside. The sun is beaming. Ya'all have a great week, ya hear!

Hope you can get some rest! It is absolutely beautiful outside. Wish I had a hammock to take a nap in.
Two Sides of Diabetes: What the Science Says and What Living It Taught Me
Diabetes isn't just a diagnosis I've studied — it's one I've lived alongside. I have Type 2 diabetes. And I've watched a family member navigate this disease too. So when I talk about this, I'm not speaking from a textbook. I'm speaking from real life. But I'm also a medical professional — which means I understand what's actually happening inside your body, what the research says, and what tools genuinely move the needle. Here's what I know to be true: 🔹 Type 2 diabetes is largely manageable — and in many cases, reversible — with the right lifestyle interventions. 🔹 Blood sugar spikes aren't random. Once you understand your triggers (food, stress, sleep, movement), you gain real control. 🔹 Medication is a tool, not a life sentence. Many people reduce or eliminate their need for it with consistent effort. 🔹 The emotional weight of a diabetes diagnosis is just as real as the physical one — and it deserves just as much attention. I created this community because I kept seeing the same gap: people leaving their doctor's office with a diagnosis and a prescription, but no real roadmap. You deserve more than that. If you're managing Type 2 (or another chronic illness), supporting a loved one who is, or trying to get ahead of prediabetes, you're in the right place. Drop a 🙋 in the comments if this resonates. I'd love to know where you are in your journey.

@Vivian Lipps It’s so frustrating, isn't it? I have had 3 referrals to a clinic in Nashville. I have been trying to get in for over a year. It doesn't seem like they are going to get me in anytime soon. Let me know if you have any luck with the Cleveland Clinic. I am in KY. Cleveland isn't that far. :) I hope you're feeling well today!

My Micro-habit
I wanted to go first so you know I'm in this with you. For the next 7 days I'm committing to one thing: no hitting the snooze button. It sounds small — and that's exactly the point. Post your micro-habit below and check in each day. This is how we build together: small steps, real support, and people who actually get it. So I wanted to share why I picked this one. I recently found out that when you hit snooze and fall back asleep, your body actually starts a whole new sleep cycle — and those can last up to four hours. So when the alarm goes off again a few minutes later, it's pulling me right out of the middle of it. No wonder I wake up feeling worse than before you snoozed! Honestly, it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me. AHA! It might be exactly why some mornings I wake up on my own and feel fine, but the days I snooze, I feel absolutely wiped out before the day even starts. Anyway, that's my why! Small change, but I'm curious to see if it actually makes a difference. I'll be checking in here each day — drop your habit below and tell us your why too! 👇

I typically drink 8 ounces of water first thing in the morning, but I have gotten out of the habit. I am going to leave a small bottle of water on my nightstand to remind me first thing. Room temp water is absorbed faster than cold water. This will have me feeling hydrated for the day.
Happy Thursday, everyone 💛
I took a step back recently and really looked at what I’m building here. At first, I focused heavily on energy —because honestly, I’ve been living without much of it…and trying to figure out how to make it better. But the more I sat with it, the more I realized… It’s bigger than just energy. So I’m zooming out a bit. This space is still about energy — but also about everything that comes with it: chronic illness, brain fog, ADHD, depression, fatigue…and the real-life challenge of figuring out how to live with it day to day. Not just understanding it — but actually building a life around it. Nothing changes about how we do things here: 👉 simple shifts 👉 real-life systems 👉 no pressure, no perfection Still Shift Work Society —just with a clearer, wider lens. "Because a diagnosis - or lack of energy - is not a plan." Glad you’re here 💛

I love this! We seem to be mindful of managing our time, but we often forget how important it is to manage our energy. I am looking forward to learning more!
YouTube Views
Soooo.... I posted a faceless short on YouTube yesterday and I have 53 views and 4 subscribers. Not sure how good that is but excited that people are watching it. 🙂
