Day #3
Stalking this unglamorous water management company for a swing. Well-defined uptrend (higher highs, higher lows), decent volume (though not the million or more recommended here). Watching to see how, or if, it interacts with the 50 day ma. I run several scans to look for pullbacks; found this in one of them on 5/29 (my arrow on Think Or Swim chart). I would like to see MACD acting more constructively. Three major firms have buy or overweight ratings on it. It missed earnings estimate on 5/6, dropped and recovered; now pulling back again. If a nice hammer prints at the 50, and it closes above the 50 on near- or better-than-average volume, it's strong buy candidate.

Hello all. Two years swing trading as supplement to income (did a little day trading in 2000s). I'm active last 3 hours of the market. Struggle: having confidence to increase position size. Rule for this week: follow all the other rules.

@Lisa Ivanov I also have issues with not holding long enough. I think account size is part of the matter; too tempted to lock in a gain and not give anything back. Keep at it!
VIST swing
VIST, swing: 2-4 days or more. Thesis: longer term uptrend, pullback on lighter vol to hammer just above 50ma, also seems to be in "bone zone". Triggered on 5/29, hammer just above 50ma. Wrong if it closes under low of 5/29. Max loss 3.5%. Sold it 6/1, $76.28, entry on 5/29 was $74.14. Glad for gain, but candle not too encouraging for holding.

The PDT Rule Is Dead. What's Your Move?
SEC officially killed the $25,000 Pattern Day Trader rule yesterday. Goes live in 45 days. Meanwhile the market is acting like a bull market again — gapped down today on Iran headlines and reversed immediately. Dips are getting bought. We're above all the EMAs. Bull market + no PDT = the best setup for new and small-account traders in years. I just dropped my full market breakdown and watchlist for tomorrow on The Bull Sheet. POET, CRDO, YSS, ALB, GLW, plus the AXTI dilution situation and what the PDT change actually means. 🔗 https://thebullsheet00.substack.com/p/dips-are-getting-bought-in-this-stock Drop a comment below — does the PDT rule going away change anything for you or your trading? Curious how many of you were held back by the $25k minimum.

I was not intending to day trade, but in about three trades, I placed an order overnight, and the stock moved up a double digit percent from my entry price the following day; I sold that day, thus a day trade. Each time, my broker promptly reminded me of my potential PDT status if I made more day trades in the time framework. So I told broker to convert my account from Margin to Cash, which they did. My understanding is that removed any PDT possibility. Oddly, though, FNRA says: "Day trading in a cash account is not permitted." Then, it says: "All securities purchased in the cash account must be paid for in full before they are sold. In the cash account, under FINRA rules, purchasing a security, paying for it in full as required by Regulation T, and then selling the same security is not considered a day trade." First, they say it is "not permitted" in a Cash account. Then, they say it's not really a day trade. A muddled explanation it seems to me, and makes me wonder if I really had gotten clear of potential PDT status. Water over the dam now, though.
