I am a 79-year-old female (she/her). I was born in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947, just five months before the Famous Roswell UFO crash on a neighbor's farm; my father handled the space junk. When I did, I pushed hard to get into a PhD program. I graduated with my PhD at age 63. I applied to 441 locations, had one telephone interview, but was never hired. I have NOT regretted the money or efforts, as being female, my mother, who wanted to have six sons, considered me a useless, annoying liability in spite of being labeled "Gifted" in 2nd grade when I aced an intelligence test. Today, I feel my lifepath is compassionate listening support for exhausted caregivers of themselves or others who have experienced trauma, PTSD, or addiction. I am away from the farm only about three hours a week as I am the primary caregiver fro my husband who is an 85 year old Purple Heart Awarded Vietnam Veteran who is 100% disabled and in a wheelchair.
