Cuddle Corner- Looking after your wellbeing and mental health in the animal welfare space/how to avoid founder burnout.
Wednesday 3rd June 2026 @ 4pm GMT We have the lovely Jo joining us for our next cuddle corner session: Who is Jo? I am a writer and ex magazine journalist, who went from interviewing A-list celebrities to helping street dogs in India. I am a trained coach specialising in wellbeing and mental health and I am passionate about supporting women who work in the animal welfare space. I am the author of nine women fiction novels and I currently write a Substack newsletter called A Year of Ghosts, an irreverent look at anything spooky, silly and spiritual. I am the proud Ambassador for the Tree of Life For Animals in Rajasthan, India, where I visit yearly to cuddle orphaned puppies and drink lots of chai. What we will chat about: Looking after your wellbeing and mental health in the animal welfare space/how to avoid founder burnout. Effective storytelling for small charities and or/ how to build effective revenue models if we have time Where you can find Jo. Instagram @jocarnegie1

This time I set a reminder :)
Just wanted to check in... 🌿
I know how fast the world moves, and for those of us who carry a lot of responsibility for the animals, it’s easy to get to the end of the week without ever really stopping. I’m curious—how are you actually doing today? Not how you’re "managing" or "getting on," but how you are feeling in yourself? I’ve been doing some work this week on how I process the heavy stuff that comes with rescue, and I’m finding that just taking a moment to name what I’m feeling makes the load feel a little lighter. New lesson incoming on how you can do this too…. If you have a moment, I’d love to hear one thing that’s sitting on your heart, or even just one small thing that brought you a moment of peace this week. I’m here, I’m listening, and I’m so glad you’re in this little corner of the internet with me. 🤍

Hi Liz, frankly recently I feel really down about stray animals situation. Part of me wants to move out from here because of that. I feel I would like to do more for strays here but most of the time I am on my own with my pack, doing little projects at home and don't have capacity to do other things. I feel very discourage about local people attitude and even if they say they care, I just don't believe them. I would like to change stuff but the amount of work and effort one must put into achieving even a little thing/basic things here is just enormous. I know that a lot of people need education in the subject but this is beyond my understanding - everyone knows how to use Facebook or ChatGPT but they don't know how to treat their animals or won't event think about checking information online.

@Liz Clarke I really don't know Liz, I see so many gaps in everything here that with every day I just feel worse. Today we found another puppy, must be living somewhere in the centre of the village. We stopped to give him food - proper dog food not bread, 2 people came out watching us, they said nothing. Today I said to my husband that they all need a positive brain wash.
Announcing our First Cuddle Corner: Nicola Trudy!
Hi everyone! I am so thrilled to announce our very first Cuddle Corner call. The purpose of these calls is simply to remind you: "You are not alone." We have the perfect guest to guide us. Nicola Trudy is a Bodywork Practitioner who has a special gift for supporting people experiencing burnout and overwhelm—the "deep feelers" among us. If you carry a lot emotionally for the animals you serve, this session is a safe space for you to land. Session Focus: Big Hearts, Burnout, and the Wisdom of the Body Nicola will guide us through a short, seated embodied practice. It’s very gentle and designed to help us connect safely with our body and breath. • Please bring: A clean tennis ball 🎾 (we’ll use it to explore releasing tension). You can still join and practice without one! When: Wednesday 29th April @ 6pm GMT Where: Online. Remember: Zero pressure. Camera/mic off is 100% OK. Just come as you are. The recording will be added to the Library afterward for anyone who can’t make it live. See you there! Liz & Kathleen
